Sean Murphy (baseball)
Sean Michael Murphy (born October 4, 1994) is an American professional baseball catcher for the Atlanta Braves of Major League Baseball (MLB). He has previously played in MLB for the Oakland Athletics. Murphy made his MLB debut in 2019 with the Athletics and won a Gold Glove Award in 2021. Amateur career Murphy attended Centerville High School in Centerville, Ohio, and Wright State University, where he played college baseball for the Wright State Raiders. In 2015, he played collegiate summer baseball with the Orleans Firebirds of the Cape Cod Baseball League, and was named a league all-star. He was drafted by the Oakland Athletics in the third round of the 2016 Major League Baseball draft. Orleans Firebirds
The Orleans Firebirds, formerly the Orleans Cardinals, are a collegiate summer baseball team based in Orleans, Massachusetts. The team is a member of the Cape Cod Baseball League (CCBL) and plays in the league's East Division. The Firebirds play their home games at Eldredge Park in Orleans, which opened in 1913 and is the CCBL's oldest ballpark. The Firebirds are owned and operated by the non-profit Orleans Athletic Association. Orleans has won two CCBL championships in the 21st century, most recently in 2005 when they defeated the Bourne Braves two games to one to win the best of three championship series. Frederic Michael Tarnok (born November 24, 1998) is an American professional baseball pitcher for the Oakland Athletics of Major League Baseball (MLB). He was selected by the Atlanta Braves in the third round of the 2017 Major League Baseball draft. He made his MLB debut with the Braves in 2022. Kyle Douglas Muller (born October 7, 1997) is an American professional baseball pitcher for the Oakland Athletics of Major League Baseball (MLB). He was drafted by the Atlanta Braves in the second round of the 2016 MLB draft. He made his MLB debut in 2021 with the Braves and was traded to Athletics after the 2022 season. Amateur career Muller attended Jesuit College Preparatory School of Dallas in Dallas, Texas. He was a pitcher and outfielder.
