Sean McGrath (musician)
Sean McGrath is a musician and artist who lives in San Francisco, California. He is the founding member, guitarist, and vocalist of the death metal band, Impaled, the vocalist of Engorged, and the guitarist and vocalist of Ghoul. He has also created artwork for a number of heavy metal and punk bands, most notably Municipal Waste and The Black Dahlia Murder. The Last Gasp
Impaled is a death metal band from Oakland, California. The band's name is a backronym, standing for "Immoral Medical Practitioners And Licentious Evil-Doers". History The band was founded by guitarist Sean McGrath in late 1996, who joined with drummer Raul Varela, guitarist Jared Deaver (ex-Deeds of Flesh, ex-Severed Savior) and bassist Ron Dorn to record their 1997 demo ''Septic Vomit''. In 1998, Leon del Muerte, former guitarist for Exhumed, was added to the line-up as a lead vocalist. With the departure of Jared Deaver, del Muerte took on second guitar duties in addition to lead vocals. Due to schedule conflicts as regards touring, Ron Dorn was asked to leave and was temporarily replaced by bassist Ross Sewage, who concurrently was playing with Exhumed and Ludicra. ''Splatterthrash'' is an album released in June 2006 by Ghoul. The album features many surf guitar riffs, as well as thrash metal riffs. Story and Concept The album's lyric sheet is presented in a comic book-like fashion, with talk boxes narrating the story. The album's concept begins with "Bury the Hatchet." ''Maniaxe'' is Ghoul's 2003 follow up to their debut album ''We Came for the Dead!!!'', released by Razorback Records. As before, the lyrics in this album continue the band's storyline, and introduces Ghoul's new nemesis, "The Ghoul Hunter." ''Maniaxe'' also introduces a fourth member to Ghoul, "Dissector". Ghoul is an American thrash metal band from Oakland, California. Though the members' actual identities are meant to be concealed, it is known that some members or past members of Ghoul also play or have played in other bands such as Impaled, Dystopia, Wolves in the Throne Room, Exhumed, Phobia, Morbid Angel, Asunder and Morbosidad. Ghoul released their debut album in 2002 and have released five studio albums. History The masked members go by the stage names Cremator, Fermentor, Digestor, and Dissector. The band's lyrics describe a large cast of characters, including themselves. Much of the known information concerning the band comes from the "Curio Shop Owner" one of the many characters mentioned in their songs. They claim to be mutants that come from Creepsylvania.
