Sean McDermott (basketball)
Sean McDermott (born November 3, 1996) is an American professional basketball player for Openjobmetis Varese of the Lega Basket Serie A (LBA). He played college basketball at Butler. Early life and high school McDermott grew up in Anderson, Indiana and attended Pendleton Heights High School. His mother ran a fitness center called "The Sports Center" where McDermott was often found playing basketball. As a senior, he averaged 16 points and 6.6 rebounds and was named an Indiana All-Star as he led the Arabians to the Hoosier Heritage Conference. McDermott committed to play college basketball at Butler over offers from Illinois State, Indiana State, New Orleans and UNC Greensboro. His uncle is long-time college coach, Linc Darner. Small forwards are typically shorter, quicker, and leaner than power forwards and centers but taller, larger, and stronger than either of the guard positions. Indiana State Sycamores Men's Basketball
The Indiana State Sycamores basketball is the NCAA Division I men's basketball program of Indiana State University in Terre Haute, Indiana. They currently compete in the Missouri Valley Conference. The team last played in the NCAA Division I men's basketball tournament in 2011. The Sycamores' first season was 1896, making them the oldest basketball team in the NCAA along with Bucknell, Minnesota, Washington and Yale; however, the records from 1896 to 1899 no longer exist. The Sycamores boast two College Players of the Year, 14 All-Americans, 40 1,000-point scorers, and 1,510+ victories. Their victory count places them in the top 70 of all NCAA Division I programs. A two-way contract is a professional sports contract that stipulates that an athlete's salary is dependent upon the league in which the athlete is assigned to play. This is opposed to a one-way contract that would pay the same salary regardless of where the athlete is assigned to play. 2020 NBA Draft
The 2020 NBA draft was held on November 18, 2020. The draft was originally scheduled to be held at Barclays Center in Brooklyn on June 25, but due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, it was instead conducted at ESPN's facilities in Bristol, Connecticut, with the event held via videoconferencing. National Basketball Association (NBA) teams took turns selecting amateur United States college basketball players and other eligible players, including international players. 2019–20 IUPUI Jaguars Men's Basketball Team
The 2019–20 IUPUI Jaguars men's basketball team represented Indiana University–Purdue University Indianapolis in the 2019–20 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Jaguars, led by interim head coach Byron Rimm II, played their home games at Indiana Farmers Coliseum in Indianapolis, Indiana as members of the Horizon League. They finished the season 7–25, 3–15 in Horizon League play, to finish in last place. They lost in the first round of the Horizon League tournament to UIC. Linc Darner
Linc Mitchel Darner (born December 12, 1970) is an American basketball coach and former men's basketball coach of the University of Wisconsin–Green Bay Phoenix. Darner previously spent nine seasons as the head coach at DII Florida Southern College and four seasons at Saint Joseph's College (Indiana). In 2015, Darner's Florida Southern Moccasins finished 36–1 and won the NCAA Division II National Championship. Darner was named the 2015 NABC UPS DII National Coach of the Year. Darner took over at Green Bay after Brian Wardle left in 2015. In his first season, he led the Phoenix to their first NCAA Tournament appearance since 1996.
