Shawn Brown (born February 27, 1987) is a Jamaican-born former soccer player who played as a midfielder and defender. Career Early career Brown began playing with the Toronto-based Serbian White Eagles in the interprovincial Canadian Soccer League in 2010. After a single season with the Serbs, he signed with expansion franchise Mississauga Eagles. He would record his first goal for the club on June 17, 2011, against London City. The Eagles would successfully secure a postseason berth by finishing seventh in the First Division. Brown would feature in the opening round of the playoffs where Mississauga was eliminated from the competition by Toronto Croatia. In 2012, he would sign with the newly promoted SC Waterloo Region. The club narrowly failed in clinching a playoff berth after finishing ninth in the division with a single-point difference. He re-signed with Waterloo for the 2013 season. Seán Browne (3 May 1916 – 27 March 1996) was an Irish Fianna Fáil politician. He was a Teachta Dála (TD) for the Wexford constituency – first elected in 1957. Early and personal life Browne was a prominent member of the GAA. He served as chairman of Wexford County Board for 21 years. Seán Browne was the uncle of John Browne, a TD representing the Wexford constituency from 1982 to 2016. Political career Browne was elected to Dáil Éireann as a Fianna Fáil TD for the Wexford constituency at the 1957 general election. He was defeated at the 1961 election, and was unsuccessful again at the 1965 general election. However, after his 1961 defeat he was elected to the 10th Seanad on the Labour Panel, which returned him in 1965 to the 11th Seanad. Browne regained his Dáil seat at the 1969 general election. Swiz was an American hardcore punk band formed in 1987 in Washington, D.C., United States. History The founding members were Shawn Brown (vocals) and Ramsey Metcalf (guitar), who later added Nathan Larson (bass), Alex Daniels (drums) and Jason Farrell (guitar). Before Swiz formed, Brown had been the original vocalist for Dag Nasty. Metcalf departed shortly after the band recorded its first demo and Swiz continued as a four-piece. Getting started The band started with the goal to move away from the Revolution Summer movement that had emerged with the Washington, D.C. punk scene in 1985. Members felt the intensity and aggressiveness had decreased with the new wave of punk music and felt they resonated more with hardcore punk.
