Sealand Road
Sealand Road was the home stadium of Chester City Football Club (until 1983 known as Chester Football Club) from 1906 until 1990. Although officially known simply as The Stadium, it was more commonly referred to as Sealand Road. It was much loved by supporters of Chester, who followed their team there for 84 years, and after its closure spent an hour making the journey across Cheshire to watch their team play games at Macclesfield Town's Moss Rose ground for two years before the completion of the Deva Stadium in 1992. History Chester moved to Sealand Road from Whipcord Lane in 1906, thanks to the help of local member of parliament Alfred Mond. Macclesfield Town F
Macclesfield is a market town and civil parish in the unitary authority of Cheshire East in Cheshire, England. It is located on the River Bollin in the east of the county, on the edge of the Cheshire Plain, with Macclesfield Forest to its east; it is south of Manchester and east of Chester. Before the Norman Conquest, Macclesfield was held by Edwin, Earl of Mercia and was assessed at £8. The manor is recorded in the ''Domesday Book'' as "Maclesfeld", meaning "Maccel's open country". Bobby Williamson
Robert Williamson (born 13 August 1961 in Glasgow) is a Scottish football player and manager. Williamson played as a striker for Clydebank, Rangers, West Bromwich Albion, Rotherham United and Kilmarnock. He then became a manager at Kilmarnock, winning the 1996–97 Scottish Cup. Williamson moved to Hibernian in 2002, but had less success there and left in 2004 to manage Plymouth Argyle. He was sacked by Argyle after just over a year in charge. After a short stint with Chester City, Williamson became manager of the Uganda national football team. After a spell with Kenyan Premier League club Gor Mahia during which he won the league title, Williamson was appointed as the manager of Kenya national football team. Graham Abel (footballer)
Graham Abel (born 17 September 1960) was an English professional footballer who played in the Football League as a central defender for Chester City and Crewe Alexandra. He appeared at Wembley Stadium three times with Northwich Victoria in FA Trophy finals. Playing career Abel was born in Runcorn, Cheshire. At 25, he was a latecomer to professional football when he joined Chester in October 1985, having previously played non-league football for his hometown club Runcorn and Northwich Victoria. In 1982–83, Abel was part of the Northwich side that lost 2–1 to Telford United in the FA Trophy final, but a year later he helped ''the Vics'' beat Bangor City in a replay. The Football Association Challenge Cup, more commonly known as the FA Cup, is an annual knockout football competition in men's domestic English football. First played during the 1871–72 season, it is the oldest national football competition in the world. It is organised by and named after The Football Association (The FA).
