Sea-Doo
Sea-Doo is a Canadian brand of personal watercraft (PWC) and boats manufactured by Bombardier Recreational Products (BRP). All Sea-Doo models are driven by an impeller-driven waterjet. All Sea-Doo PWC models are currently produced at BRP's plants in Querétaro and Juárez, Mexico. Its Rotax engines are produced at BRP's plant in Gunskirchen, Austria. In 2016, Sea-Doo had a 45.8% share of the PWC market. History Bombardier introduced its first personal watercraft in 1968, called the Bombardier Sea-Doo. It was designed and mentored by Clayton Jacobson II, who would later develop the more successful Kawasaki Jet Ski watercraft. Sea-Doo Hydrocross
''Sea-Doo Hydrocross'' is a driving game developed by Vicarious Visions and published by Vatical Entertainment. It was released on June 6, 2001 on the PlayStation after many delays, though the planned Nintendo 64, Dreamcast and Game Boy Color releases never came to fruition. Project lead was Bill Armintrout and game designer was Mitch Booker. Development At E3 2000, Vicarious Visions showed off two of their upcoming games: '' Polaris SnoCross'' and ''Sea-Doo Hydrocross''. The former was said to be 80% complete at the time, with ''Sea-Doo HydroCross'' also nearing completion. Both were meant to be published by Vatical Entertainment later that year. The August 2000 issue of ''Nintendo Power'' (#135) said that both ''Cross'' games would see release in Fall 2000, which was later confirmed as that September. Sea-Doo XP
The Sea-Doo XP was a model of personal watercraft produced by Bombardier Recreational Products from 1991 to 2004. The Sea-Doo XP is a significant model in that it was the first high performance version of a sit-down style watercraft to be offered by any manufacturer. Since the craft's introduction, all other personal watercraft manufacturers have introduced and continue to offer high performance versions of their standard runabouts. In 2000, the XP was named Watercraft of the Century by Watercraft World magazine. During the 13 years it was available there were four generational changes resulting in design and performance improvements along with power increases from 55HP to 130HP. Jet Ski is the brand name of a personal watercraft (PWC) manufactured by Kawasaki, a Japanese company. The term is often used generically to refer to any type of personal watercraft used mainly for recreation, and it is also used as a verb to describe the use of any type of PWC. A runabout style PWC typically carries 3 people seated in a configuration like a typical bicycle or motorcycle. Kawasaki Jet Ski "Jet Ski" is a proper noun and registered trademark of Kawasaki. Clayton Jacobson II (October 12, 1933 – August 18, 2022) was an American inventor who was credited with inventing the jet ski. Biography Early life Jacobson was born in Multnomah County Hospital, Portland, Oregon, on October 12, 1933, to Clayton Jacobson and Sarah Fauntelle Shrock. The Jacobson family had mostly moved to the American West Coast by the early 1930s after having originally immigrated to Northfield, Minnesota, from Norway. By the mid-1940s Jacobson, his parents and his sister, Carmen, had made their way to what they referred to as ''the promised land'', Southern California. Rotax is the brand name for a range of internal combustion engines developed and manufactured by the Austrian company BRP-Rotax GmbH & Co KG (until 2016 BRP-Powertrain GmbH & Co. Benton is a city in and the county seat of Franklin County, Illinois. The population was 6,709 at the 2020 census.
