''Scratchology'' is the second compilation album by New York City DJ group The X-Ecutioners. It was released on April 8, 2003 through Sequence Records. The album contained various hip hop tracks that were cut up and produced by The X-Ecutioners. History Songs from various artists appear on the album, including Grandmaster Flash, 3rd Bass, Public Enemy, Gang Starr, Dilated Peoples, The Beat Junkies, Marvelous Marvin, DJ Premier, Roc Raida, Rhettmatic, and Davy DMX. The X-Ecutioners
The X-Ecutioners are a group of American hip hop DJs/turntablists from New York City, New York. The group formed in 1989 and currently consists of three DJs, including Total Eclipse, DJ Boogie Blind, DJ Precision. Original members of the group included Mista Sinista, Rob Swift, and Roc Raida (who died in September 2009). Rob Swift and Total Eclipse formed a side project called ''Ill Insanity'' releasing one album together in 2008 entitled Ground Xero. History the X-Ecutioners formed as a DJ crew in 1989 that originally included 11 members. The group's original name was the X-Men named after the Marvel Comics superhero team which was chosen partly because of their rivalry between DJ Clark Kent's crew of DJs, known as the Supermen, and after the DC Comics' Superman. ''Built from Scratch'' is the second studio album by New York City DJ group The X-Ecutioners. It was released on February 26, 2002, through Loud Records and Columbia Records. The album was produced by Beat Junkies, Chris Frantz, CJ Moore, Dan the Automator, DJ Apollo, DJ Premier, Kenny Muhammad The Human Orchestra, Knobody, Large Professor, Lo-Fidelity Allstars, Mike Shinoda of American rock band Linkin Park, Sean Cane, The X-Ecutioners, Tina Weymouth, and was executive produced by Peter Kang. ''Revolutions'' is the third studio album by New York City DJ group The X-Ecutioners. The album was released on June 8, 2004 through Sony Records, and was produced by three members of The X-Ecutioners, including Rob Swift, Total Eclipse, and Roc Raida. History The album was semi-successful making it to #118 on the ''Billboard'' 200 and #50 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums. Three singles were released "Live from the PJs", "Like This" and "Back to Back". This would mark Rob Swift's last studio album with the group before he left in 2005 to focus on his solo career. "Like This" was also featured in SSX 3. Guest appearances on the album include Blue Man Group, Ghostface Killah, Trife, Scram Jones, Saigon, Cypress Hill, Rob Zombie, Slug, Josey Scott, Dead Prez, Fat Joe and Aasim. The Beat Junkies is an American hip hop crew of DJs specializing in turntablism. Established in 1992 in Orange County, California by J. Rocc. As of 2014, The Beat Junkie Crew also host their own record pool, clothing line and radio station. The Beat Junkies opened their own DJ school in April 2017, located in Glendale. In January 2018, they announced plans to go online and launch beatjunkies.tv. The Beat Junkies have won prestigious DJ battles and competitions like the DMC, the Supermen, and International Turntablists Federation competitions and going to world tour exhibitions. Gang Starr was an American hip hop duo, consisting of Texas record producer DJ Premier and Massachusetts rapper Guru. For the entirety of their association, they were based out of Brooklyn, New York. Gang Starr was at its height from 1989 to 2003, and are considered one of the best MC-and-producer duos in hip hop history. They are recognized for being one of the pioneers of jazz rap. Peter O. Phillips (born June 21, 1970), better known by his stage name Pete Rock, is an American record producer, DJ and rapping, rapper. David Franklin Reeves Jr. (known professionally as Davy DMX, Davy D or Davy Dee, and also credited under the name David Reeves) is an American musician, DJ, and producer best known for his work in cooperation with Run-DMC, Kurtis Blow, The Fat Boys, and Jam Master Jay. DJ Rhettmatic (born Nazareth Nirza) is a producer, DJ and member and part creator of Southern California's first turntable band, the Beat Junkies. Rhettmatic began his DJ career in 1983, with Double Platinum, a DJ group based out of Cerritos, CA. His talent and musical expertise also extends into the realm of music production that helped him earn recognition and rewards. Rhettmatic highly acknowledges fellow Beat Junkie member, DJ Curse, as his leading mentor.
