Scourge Of The Underworld
The Scourge of the Underworld is the name of a series of fictional characters appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. Writer/editor Mark Gruenwald originally created the Scourge in 1985 as a plot device intended to thin the criminal population of the Marvel Universe, in particular eliminating those supervillain characters he deemed to be too minor, redundant, or ill-conceived. Numerous other characters have used the name, often with differing motives and loyalties. Organization The Scourge is originally depicted as an individual vigilante dedicated to the assassination of criminals. This person, whose true name has never been revealed, is seen over the course of several months murdering known supervillains. The Scourge approaches a supervillain in disguise, shoots him or her with an explosive-tipped bullet, shouts his catchphrase "Justice is served!" and disappears. Jack Monroe (character)
Jack Monroe is a fictional superhero appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. The character was originally introduced as third sidekick under the Bucky identity, initially treated as the original Bucky Barnes before being retconned as a separate character, and later the most well-known incarnation of Nomad. Publication history A character with a complicated history, Jack Monroe's origin involves a complex series of retcons. Although the character's first real appearance is as "Bucky" in ''Captain America'' #153, the origin of the character, first revealed in ''Captain America'' #155 (again by Englehart and Buscema), identifies him as the "Bucky" that appeared in ''Captain America'' comics which were originally published in the 1950s. Nuke (Francis "Frank" Simpson) is a fictional supervillain appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. Created by writer Frank Miller and artist David Mazzucchelli, the character first appeared in '' Daredevil'' #232 (July 1986). Nuke's most distinguishing feature is an American Flag tattooed on his face. A variation of Nuke named Will Simpson appeared in the first and second seasons of Marvel's Netflix television series, ''Jessica Jones'', portrayed by Wil Traval. Publication history Nuke was created by Frank Miller and David Mazzuchelli. He first appeared in '' Daredevil'' #232. Nuke largely disappeared following his apparent death in ''Daredevil'' #233, although his origin was explored and touched upon in issues of ''Captain America'' and ''Wolverine''. Skurge
The Executioner is the name of different fictional characters appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. Skurge, an Asgardian, is originally depicted as a supervillain who wields a magic double-bladed battle axe. Skurge falls in love with the Enchantress and is frequently used in schemes by her and the trickster god Loki. He is a long-time antagonist of Thor and other heroes of the Marvel universe and is a member of the original Masters of Evil. Eventually, he joins the heroes of Asgard in a mission to Hel, where he sacrifices his axe to destroy Naglfar, the ship of the dead, and delays Ragnarok, sacrificing his life to hold the bridge at Gjallarbrú so the heroes can escape the forces of Hel. After a time trapped in Hel, he joins the honored dead in Valhalla. The name was later used by two other characters: an axe-wielding android member of the Crazy Gang and a vigilante named Daniel DuBois, the son of Princess Python.
