Scottish Festival Orchestra
The Scottish Festival Orchestra is a Scottish orchestra, assembled from the leading professional orchestral musicians, regularly performing with a wide range of artists at many major venues throughout the country. Ben Folds, Nicola Benedetti, Belle and Sebastian, Idina Menzel and the Chieftains are only a few of the household names that have performed with the orchestra. Conductors have included, John Pryce-Jones, Iain Sutherland, Rob Moursey, Gavin Sutherland, Sir James MacMillan and Robert Ziegler. Ben Folds
Benjamin Scott Folds (born September 12, 1966) is an American singer-songwriter, musician, and composer, who is the first artistic advisor to the National Symphony Orchestra at the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C., since May 2017. Folds was the frontman and pianist of the alternative rock trio Ben Folds Five from 1993 to 2000, and again in the early 2010s during their reunion. He has recorded a number of solo albums and performed live as a solo artist. He has also collaborated with musicians such as William Shatner, Regina Spektor, "Weird Al" Yankovic, and yMusic, and undertaken experimental songwriting projects with authors such as Nick Hornby and Neil Gaiman. Folds has frequently performed arrangements of his music with uncommon instrumentation, including symphony orchestras and a cappella groups. Glasgow Royal Concert Hall
Glasgow Royal Concert Hall is a concert and arts venue located in Glasgow, Scotland. It is owned by Glasgow City Council and operated by Glasgow Life, an agency of Glasgow City Council, which also runs Glasgow's City Halls and Old Fruitmarket venue. History Built as the Glasgow International Concert Hall, the Royal Concert Hall is one of the largest halls in the United Kingdom. It was granted Royal status shortly before it was officially opened on 5 October 1990 at a gala performance attended by HRH Princess Anne.
