The Scottish Conservative and Unionist Students is the former student wing of the Scottish Conservative and Unionist Party. Scottish Conservative And Unionist Party
The Scottish Conservative & Unionist Party ( gd, Pàrtaidh Tòraidheach na h-Alba, sco, Scots Tory an Unionist Pairty), often known simply as the Scottish Conservatives and colloquially as the Scottish Tories, is a centre-right political party in Scotland. It is the second-largest party in the Scottish Parliament and the third-largest in Scottish local government. The party has the second-largest number of Scottish MPs in the House of Commons of the United Kingdom and the seventh overall. The Leader of the party is Douglas Ross. He replaced Jackson Carlaw, who briefly served from February to July 2020; Carlaw had in turn taken over from Ruth Davidson, who held the post from 2011 to 2019. The party has no Chief Whip at Westminster, which is instead represented by the Chief Whip of the Conservative Party in England. Scottish Young Conservatives
The Scottish Young Conservatives (SYC) is the youth wing of the Scottish Conservatives for members aged 25 and under. The organisation shares the same values and policies as its parent political party with branches being an integrated part of local associations. SYC is both social and political, aiming to bring together young conservatives and encouraging young people to get involved in campaigning. Unlike Young Conservatives (UK), SYC has an elected executive board, consisting of 3 national officers, Chair, National Campaigns Coordinator and Secretary, and 3 Regional Chairs. The organisation has formed itself into three regions. Within the regions University Conservative and Unionist Associations sit under the local Conservative branches. Conservative Future (CF) was the youth movement of the Conservative Party in England, Wales, and Northern Ireland. The organisation was made up of all members of the Conservative Party who were 30 years old or younger. Conservative Future was founded in 1998. By 2006, it was the largest political organisation on British campuses and the estimated membership, including members on campuses and through constituency associations may once have totalled 20,000. Conservative Future Scotland was the independent sister organisation of CF in Scotland. Internationally, Conservative Future participated in the centre-right International Young Democrat Union. Conservative Future Scotland (CFS) was the youth wing of the Scottish Conservative Party. The organisation formed in early 2005 by the merger of the Scottish Young Conservatives and the Scottish Conservative and Unionist Students (SCUS) group, a process which had happened with its sister organisation in the rest of the United Kingdom - Conservative Future - in 1998. Its membership comprised all of the Scottish Conservative Party's members under the age of 30 or who were currently in higher education. The organisation formed itself into three regions, each with its own executive.
