Earl Scottie Carreon Thompson (born July 12, 1993) is a Filipino professional basketball player for the Barangay Ginebra San Miguel of the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA). Early life and high school career Thompson was born on July 12, 1993, and was named after Scottie Pippen as his father is a big Chicago Bulls fan. Thompson has American roots through his paternal great-grandfather. Thompson started playing basketball when he was in elementary, but his game took off during his senior year in high school when he played in the Palarong Pambansa (representing Region XI) and was chosen for the Nike Elite Camp. According to him, he had no scholarship offers from top collegiate schools except for Perpetual Help. College career Thompson played college basketball at the University of Perpetual Help of the NCAA. The Barangay Ginebra San Miguel is a professional basketball team in the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA). PBA Best Player Of The Conference Award
The Philippine Basketball Association's Best Player of the Conference Award is given to the best local (Filipino or part-Filipino) player at the end of each conference (tournament). It was first awarded in the 1994 All-Filipino Conference. The Best Import Award is given to the best player (non-Filipino) at the end of each import-laden conference. Criteria The method of selecting the Best Player of the Conference is similar on how the season's Most Valuable Player is selected. NCAA Season 88 is the 2012–13 season of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (Philippines), National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA). The host school, Colegio de San Juan de Letran, will lead the opening ceremonies at the Smart Araneta Coliseum on June 23, 2012. Associated Broadcasting Company, TV5, via its Sports5 production, will air the men's basketball tournament at AKTV on Intercontinental Broadcasting Corporation, IBC, its first year of airing the league. With its new TV contract, the league was allowed to schedule Saturday games; on its old TV coverage partner ABS-CBN, no weekend games were scheduled. NCAA Season 90 is the 2014–15 collegiate athletic year of the National Collegiate Athletic Association in the Philippines. It is hosted by the Jose Rizal University and was opened on June 28, 2014, at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay. It is the last season for the Lyceum of the Philippines University Pirates, who play their second year as probationary and the Emilio Aguinaldo College Generals, who play their fifth year as probationary, as probationary members; their performance in the Season 90 would be the basis for the decision if they will be admitted as regular members of the league. The PBA Developmental League, or PBA D-League, is the Philippine Basketball Association's official minor league basketball organization. History The PBA D-League was conceptualized after the collapse of the proposed merger between the Philippine Basketball League (PBL) and Liga Pilipinas after the staging of the ''Tournament of the Philippines'' which was composed by PBL and Liga Pilipinas teams. PBA Commissioner Chito Salud proposed the formation of a PBA D-League, which will fill the void left by the PBL. On January 25, 2011, the PBA Board of Governors approved the proposal.
