Scott Totten
Scott Totten (born in Orange County, California) is an American musician, best known for his work as musical director, singer and guitarist in the current Beach Boys touring band, which features original Beach Boy Mike Love and later addition Bruce Johnston. Totten attended Berklee College of Music, eventually earning a Bachelor of Music degree. Later he was a Broadway and session guitarist. In the 1990s Totten played on albums and sessions by Grandmaster Flash, Angela Bofill, Sybill, Donna Summer and Exposé. He also played on Broadway shows and tours such as ''The Who's Tommy'', ''Les Misérables'', ''Rent'' and '' Mamma Mia!''. Totten began playing with the Beach Boys touring band on guitar in 2000. He moved to the position of musical director in 2008. ''Reason for the Season'' is the third solo studio album by American musician Mike Love, co-founder of The Beach Boys. It was released on October 26, 2018. The album contains traditional Christmas carols, new songs, and re-recordings of " Little St. Nick" (from ''The Beach Boys' Christmas Album'') and " Alone on Christmas Day", an unreleased song recorded by The Beach Boys in 1977. The album was released on compact disc and clear vinyl with red and green splatter. The album was primarily recorded in Love's home studio on Lake Tahoe in the Sierra Nevada Mountains. It features Love's children — Ambha, Brian, Christian and Hayleigh — who provide choral voices on five tracks, and his sister Maureen as the harpist on "O Holy Night". ''Made in California (1962–2012)'' is a compilation box set by the Beach Boys, released on August 27, 2013. The set, released through Capitol Records, was designed by Mark London in a form emulating a high school yearbook. The set contains six CDs with tracks that span the band's entire career, including outtakes, demos, B-sides, rarities, alternate takes and versions, plus over 60 previously unreleased. It supersedes the theretofore career-spanning 1993 box set '' Good Vibrations: Thirty Years of The Beach Boys'', which followed a similar premise. Background Originally announced for a 2012 release, alongside the two-disc compilation album ''Fifty Big Ones'', the box set was ultimately delayed. Beach Boys 50th Anniversary Reunion Tour
The 50th Anniversary Reunion Tour was a 2012 world concert tour by the American rock band the Beach Boys. The tour marked the first time since 1982 that founding member Brian Wilson had performed on a full tour with the band, although from 1965 to 1973 and again from 1983 to 1996 he did join them in select shows and appearances. The tour also marked the first time that The Beach Boys had played at the Hollywood Bowl since 1967, having sold it out both times. Brian Wilson stated that this Beach Boys tour, and the album associated with it, ''That's Why God Made the Radio'', which was released in June 2012, is dedicated to the memory of his two brothers: Carl who died of cancer in 1998, and Dennis, who drowned in 1983. ''Rent'' is a rock musical with music, lyrics, and book by Jonathan Larson, loosely based on Giacomo Puccini's 1896 opera ''La Bohème''. It tells the story of a group of impoverished young artists struggling to survive and create a life in Lower Manhattan's East Village in the thriving days of bohemian Alphabet City, under the shadow of HIV/AIDS. The musical was first seen in a workshop production at New York Theatre Workshop in 1993. This same off-Broadway theatre was also the musical's initial home following its official 1996 opening.
