Scott Thompson (AFL Footballer)
Scott Thompson (born 14 March 1983) is a former Australian rules footballer who played for the Melbourne Football Club and Adelaide Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL). He was drafted by with pick 16 in the 2000 national draft from in the SANFL, and was traded to Adelaide after the 2004 season. AFL career Melbourne (2001–2004) Thompson debuted with in round 10, 2001 as an 18-year-old. After winning the club's Best First Year Player award in 2001, subsequent injuries caused him to struggle to break into the side for the next two years. In 2004 he played every game (barring a one-match suspension for striking) before breaking his foot against in round 13 and missing the remainder of the year. At the end of the 2004 season, Thompson asked to return to South Australia as his brother was unwell and was able to complete a trade, exchanging pick 12 in the national draft. Brownlow Medal
The Charles Brownlow Trophy, better known as the Brownlow Medal (and informally as "Charlie"), is awarded to the " best and fairest" player in the Australian Football League (AFL) during the home-and-away season, as determined by votes cast by the three officiating field umpires after each game. Tom Doedee (born 1 March 1997) is a professional Australian rules footballer playing for the Adelaide Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL). Early life Doedee excelled as a junior basketballer from the age of six playing as a Point Guard in the Geelong Supercats junior teams. He also played junior football for St Joseph's in Geelong Football League. He played for Victoria Country in the 2012 under-18 Australian basketball championships. He sat out the Geelong Falcons 2014 preseason to concentrate on basketball, hoping for a possible scholarship in the United States. Don Pyke
Donald Lachlan Pyke (born 5 December 1968) is a former Australian rules footballer who is an assistant coach at the Sydney Swans. He was formerly the senior coach of the Adelaide Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL). He played for the West Coast Eagles from 1989 to 1996. Pyke was the first United States born player in the Australian Football League and played more games and kicked more goals than any other American born player in the history of the league with 132 games and 97 goals. Pyke was recruited by the Claremont Football Club for the 1987 WAFL season, playing in a premiership in his first season and winning the club's best and fairest award in his second season. Phil Walsh (Australian Footballer)
Phillip Walsh (15 March 1960 – 3 July 2015) was an Australian rules footballer and coach. Walsh played for Collingwood, Richmond and the Brisbane Bears in the Victorian Football League (VFL) between 1983 and 1990. Upon ending his playing career, Walsh held assistant coaching roles at Geelong, West Coast and Port Adelaide before being appointed as the head coach of the Adelaide Football Club for a three-season contract beginning in 2015. On 3 July 2015, Walsh was found dead at the age of 55, in his Somerton Park home with multiple stab wounds. His son Cy was charged with his murder, and later found not guilty due to mental incompetence. The All-Australian team is an all-star team of Australian rules football in Australia, Australian rules footballers, selected by a panel at the end of each season. Richard Joseph Edwin Douglas (born 6 February 1987) is a former Australian rules football player who played for the Adelaide Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL).
