Scott Rennie
Scott Martin Rennie (born 31 March 1972) is a Scottish clergyman who is the Minister of Crown Court Church of Scotland, London. He was formerly Minister of Queen's Cross Church, Aberdeen (2009-2022) and Brechin Cathedral in the Church of Scotland (1999–2009). Background Rennie was born on 31 March 1972 in Bucksburn, Aberdeen, Scotland. He studied geography at the University of Aberdeen, and Divinity at Christ's College, Aberdeen. He served as Assistant Minister at Queen's Cross Church, Aberdeen, studying for a Masters in Sacred Theology at Union Theological Seminary in New York City on a Scots Fellowship. The Reverend is an style (manner of address), honorific style most often placed before the names of Christian clergy and Minister of religion, ministers. Homosexuality
Homosexuality is romantic attraction, sexual attraction, or sexual behavior between members of the same sex or gender. Liberal Youth Scotland
Scottish Young Liberals (formerly referred to as Liberal Youth Scotland or LYS) is the Youth and Student wing of the Scottish Liberal Democrats. The Westboro Baptist Church (WBC) is a small American, unaffiliated Primitive Baptist church in Topeka, Kansas, founded in 1955 by pastor Fred Phelps. Jack Glass
John Thomas Atkinson Glass (8 September 1936 – 24 February 2004), often known as Pastor Jack Glass or simply as Jack Glass, was a Scottish Protestant preacher, evangelist and political activist. Glass is most readily associated with his strong views on unionism in Northern Ireland, his anti-Catholic speeches and his association with his friend and colleague Ian Paisley. The St George's Tron Church, in Glasgow, Scotland, is a Church of Scotland church in the city centre, located in Nelson Mandela Place, previously known as St George's Place, fronting Buchanan Street at West George Street, along from Queen Street Station. Moderators And Clerks In The Church Of Scotland
The Church of Scotland maintains a presbyterian polity and is thus governed by a hierarchy of bodies known as church courts. Each of these courts has a moderator and a clerk. Moderators The moderator presides over the meeting of the court, much as a convener presides over the meeting of a church committee. The moderator is thus the chairperson, and is understood to be a member of the court acting ''primus inter pares''. The moderator calls and constitutes meetings, presides at them, and closes them in prayer. The Moderator has a casting vote, but not a deliberative vote. During a meeting the title "Moderator" is used by all other members of the court as a form of address, but this is not done outwith the meetings. Forward Together (Scotland)
Forward Together is an evangelical organisation within the Church of Scotland which acts as a pressure group on a variety of issues. It was founded in 1994 and currently represents 600 ministers and members of the Church of Scotland. It supports traditional biblical values on all issues including civil partnerships, same-sex blessings and embryonic stem cell research. In 2006 the group's Secretary, Rev Ian Watson, said the central management of the Church in Edinburgh was following a "left-wing, liberal agenda" which was contrary to the wishes of the vast majority of ordinary Church members. He also criticised the continual appointment of liberals to the position of Moderator.
