Scott Duvall
Scott Duvall is a retired Canadian politician who served as the member of Parliament for Hamilton Mountain from 2015 until 2021. He had previously served on Hamilton City Council representing Ward 7 (Central Mountain) from 2006 until he was elected to the House of Commons following the 2015 Canadian federal election. He was a member of the New Democratic Party. Prior to being elected to Hamilton City Council, Duvall was a steelworker and a labour union president. Hamilton Mountain is a federal electoral district in Ontario, Canada, that has been represented in the House of Commons of Canada since 1968. The riding is located in the Hamilton region. The socio-economic composition of the Hamilton Mountain is diverse, with low-income public housing residents as well as million-dollar estates, highly-paid unionized workers, low-wage unskilled workers, and well-established families and recent immigrants. Trevor Pettit (born March 14, 1951) is a former politician in Ontario, Canada. He was a Progressive Conservative member of the Ontario legislature from 1995 to 1999 who represented the riding of Hamilton Mountain. Background Pettit was born in Hamilton. The 2021 Canadian federal election was held on September 20, 2021, to elect members of the House of Commons to the 44th Canadian Parliament. The writs of election were issued by Governor General Mary Simon on August 15, 2021, when Prime Minister Justin Trudeau requested the dissolution of parliament for a snap election. Trudeau won a third term as prime minister, his second minority government. Though the Liberals were hoping to win a majority government to govern alone, the results were mostly unchanged from the 2019 Canadian federal election. John Gilbert Layton (July 18, 1950 – August 22, 2011) was a Canadian academic and politician who served as the leader of the New Democratic Party (NDP) from 2003 to 2011 and leader of the Official Opposition in 2011. CHCH-DT (channel 11) is an independent television station in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. Owned by Channel Zero, the station maintains studios on Innovation Drive in the west end of Hamilton; prior to 2021, it was located near the corner of Jackson and Caroline streets in downtown Hamilton for nearly 65 years.
