Scott Dunbier
Scott Dunbier is an American comic book editor, best known as the Special Projects Editor at IDW Publishing. Career Dunbier rose to prominence in the comic book industry as executive editor of the Wildstorm comic book line. After several years as a dealer in original comic book artwork during the 1980s and 1990s, Dunbier began with Wildstorm in 1995 as Special Projects Editor. Two years later, he was named Editor-in-Chief, a title which was changed to Group Editor when Wildstorm became a part of DC Comics. Among the many projects Dunbier edited for Wildstorm were Alan Moore's America's Best Comics line ( including ''Promethea'', ''Tom Strong'', ''The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen'' & '' Top 10''), '' Arrowsmith'' and ''Challengers of the Unknown''. The New York Comic Con is an annual New York City fan convention dedicated to Western comics, graphic novels, anime, manga, video games, cosplay, toys, movies, and television. It was first held in 2006. ''Top 10'' is a superhero comic book limited series published by the America's Best Comics imprint of Wildstorm, itself an imprint of DC Comics. Written by Alan Moore and illustrated by Gene Ha and Zander Cannon, the series details the lives and work of the police force of Neopolis, a city in which almost everyone, from the police and criminals to civilians, children and even pets, has super powers and/or colourful costumes. ''Artist's Edition'' is a line of hardcover reprint comic books published by IDW Publishing and edited by Scott Dunbier. List of Harvey Award Winners - Best Domestic Reprint Project Unlike the usual graphic novels, this project features printing of the original artworks in a way to mimic the experience of a comic book artist viewing comic art. Artist's Edition is designed to print exactly the same dimension as the artwork papers that comic book artists usually use in their illustrations and also retaining the editorial notes and printing crop marks seen on the papers. All the artworks were originally colored, Artist's Edition specifically prints in black and white palette to show the details of pasteovers, zip-a-tone technique, and blue pencils. The Challengers of the Unknown is a fictional group of adventurers appearing in comic books published by DC Comics. The quartet of adventurers explored paranormal occurrences while facing several fantastic menaces. The characters' provenance is uncertain. Various sources credit the group as the sole creation of artist and storyteller Jack Kirby, a co-creation with writer Dave Wood or a co-creation with Kirby's former partner Joe Simon. Following the end of the ''Challengers'' comic, DC has revived the characters in different incarnations over the years. ''Arrowsmith'' is a fantasy comic book series by writer Kurt Busiek and penciller Carlos Pacheco that reimagines World War I in a world in which magic, dragons, and other magical beings exist. A six-issue series was published by Wildstorm's Cliffhanger imprint in 2003 to generally positive reviews. A second six-issue series was published by Image Comics in 2022, also to positive reviews; it was one of Pacheco's last published works. Plot The series is set in an alternate Earth in which magic is real. Set during that world's analog of the First World War, the United States of Columbia fights using dragons, spells, vampires, and all other forms of magic. ''Tom Strong'' is a comic book created by writer Alan Moore and artist Chris Sprouse, initially published bi-monthly by America's Best Comics, an imprint of DC Comics' Wildstorm division. Tom Strong, the title character, is a "science hero", with a wife, Dhalua, and a daughter, Tesla, both with enhanced physical and mental abilities and longevity.
