Scott Barney
Scott Barney (born March 27, 1979) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey forward, who played in the National Hockey League with the Los Angeles Kings and Atlanta Thrashers. Barney currently serves as the head coach and general manager for the Humboldt Broncos of the SJHL, having agreed to a 3 year contract extension on March 31, 2019. Playing career Barney was drafted by Los Angeles 29th overall in the 1997 NHL Entry Draft. He did not get to play in the NHL until the 2002–03 season, because he missed three consecutive seasons due to a severe back injury. He also played for the Atlanta Thrashers. Barney played a total of 27 games in the NHL, scoring 5 goals and adding 6 assists for 11 points. He was loaned to the Hershey Bears in March 2007 from the Grand Rapids Griffins and was re-signed by the Bears for the 2007–08 season on July 31, 2007. Los Angeles Kings
The Los Angeles Kings are a professional ice hockey team based in Los Angeles. The team competes in the National Hockey League (NHL) as a member of the Pacific Division in the Western Conference and was founded on June 5, 1967, after Jack Kent Cooke was awarded an NHL expansion franchise for Los Angeles on February 9, 1966, becoming one of the six teams that began play as part of the 1967 NHL expansion. Forward (ice Hockey)
In ice hockey, a forward is a player, and a position on the ice, whose primary responsibility is to score and assist goals. Generally, the forwards try to stay in three different lanes of the ice going from goal to goal. It is not mandatory, however, to stay in a lane. Staying in a lane aids in forming the common offensive strategy known as a triangle. One forward obtains the puck and then the forwards pass it between themselves making the goalie move side to side. This strategy opens up the net for scoring opportunities. This strategy allows for a constant flow of the play, attempting to maintain the control of play by one team in the offensive zone. The forwards can pass to the defence players playing at the blue line, thus freeing up the play and allowing either a shot from the point (blue line position where the defence stands) or a pass back to the offence. The 2011–12 SM-liiga season was the 37th season of the SM-liiga, the top level of ice hockey in Finland, since the league's formation in 1975. Czech Extraliga
The Czech Extraliga ( cs, Extraliga ledního hokeje, ELH) is the highest-level ice hockey league in the Czech Republic. It was created by the 1993 split of the Czechoslovak First Ice Hockey League following the breakup of Czechoslovakia. The 2002–03 NHL season was the 86th regular season of the National Hockey League.
