Den Harrow
Stefano Zandri (born 4 June 1962), known by his stage name Den Harrow, is an Italian singer and model. The name Den Harrow was conceived by producers Roberto Turatti and Miki Chieregato, who based it on the Italian word ''denaro'' (money). Career Den Harrow became popular in the late 1980s at the height of the Italo disco genre. He scored several hits during that period; one of his best known songs is "Don't Break My Heart" from 1987. Revelation After years of fame and popularity, it was revealed by frontman Stefano Zandri and his producers that Zandri did not actually sing any of the songs credited to Den Harrow; he was essentially a character who lip-synched to vocals recorded by a number of other singers. Furthermore, since they did not consider Zandri's name and origin to be "trendy" enough, producers Turatti and Chieregato concealed Zandri's Italian origin, marketing him as having been born Manuel Stefano Curry in Boston, Massachusetts. This was done so that Polydor Records ...

Sparks (band)
Sparks is an American pop and rock duo formed by brothers Ron (keyboards) and Russell Mael (vocals) in Los Angeles. The duo is noted for their quirky approach to songwriting; their music is often accompanied by sophisticated and acerbic lyrics—often about women, and sometimes containing literary or cinematic references-- and an idiosyncratic, theatrical stage presence, typified by the contrast between Russell's animated, hyperactive frontman antics and Ron's deadpan scowling. Russell Mael has a distinctive wide-ranging voice, while Ron Mael plays keyboards in an intricate and rhythmic style. They have been much more successful in Europe than in their native U.S., though they maintain a loyal cult following in the States. Career highlights include "This Town Ain't Big Enough for Both of Us", which reached No. 2 on the UK Singles Chart in 1974; the disco hit "The Number One Song in Heaven" in 1979, resulting from a collaboration with Giorgio Moroder and marking a stylistic shift ...

Amateur Hour (song)
"Amateur Hour" is a song by Sparks. It was released as the second single from their 1974 album ''Kimono My House''. Bassist Martin Gordon was requested to replace his original bass part (recorded using a Rickenbacker 4001 bass) with a Fender Precision bass, belonging to his subsequent replacement in the band. A re-recording was produced in 1997 for the retrospective ''Plagiarism'' album. This new version was given a complete electronic synthpop overhaul and was performed with Erasure. On 25 June 2009, the song "Amateur Hour" was featured in a stunt when UK magician and mentalist Mark Cairns predicted that radio personality George Lamb would choose the Sparks song, in a free choice from a list of 100 tracks that had been recently played on Lamb's ''BBC Radio 6 Music'' show. Track listing # "Amateur Hour" — 3:37 # "Lost and Found" — 3:21 Personnel *Russell Mael - vocals *Ron Mael - keyboards *Martin Gordon - bass * Adrian Fisher - guitar *Norman "Dinky" Diamond Norman Vi ...

Interpolation (popular Music)
In popular music, interpolation (also called a replayed sample) refers to using a melody—or portions of a melody (often with modified lyrics)—from a previously recorded song but re-recording the melody instead of sampling it. Interpolation is often used when the artist or label who owns the piece of music declines to license the sample, or if licensing the piece of music is considered too costly. Interpolation examples Interpolation is prevalent in many genres of popular music; early examples are the Beatles interpolating "La Marseillaise" and "She Loves You", among three other interpolations in the 1967 song "All You Need Is Love", and Lyn Collins interpolating lyrics from the 5 Royales' "Think" in her similarly titled 1972 song "Think (About It)". One genre where interpolating (as well as sampling) is highly prevalent is hip hop music; prominent examples include Stevie Wonder's "Pastime Paradise" interpolated in Coolio's hit song "Gangsta's Paradise", and Sting's " ...
