Scomadi Turismo Leggera
The Scomadi Turismo Leggera, also known as TL, is the first scooter made by Scomadi. It was made to fill the gap for a 'retro styled' 'modern scooter'. History The Scomadi Turismo Leggera started life as the brainchild of Frank Sanderson, who owned a business doing one off conversions putting of automatic and motorcycle into classic Lambretta's, and Paul Melici owner of a scooter shop. A limited run of 10 Scomadi carbon fiber TL250 scooters using Vespa GTS 250 engines. The success of the TL250 led to the creation of the TL300 using Fiberglass panels to reduce costs, the engine being a GTS 300 engine. Capacitor discharge ignition (CDI) or thyristor ignition is a type of automotive electronic ignition system which is widely used in outboard motors, motorcycles, lawn mowers, chainsaws, small engines, turbine-powered aircraft, and some cars. It was originally developed to overcome the long charging times associated with high inductance coils used in inductive discharge ignition (IDI) systems, making the ignition system more suitable for high engine speeds (for small engines, racing engines and rotary engines). Vespa GTS
The Vespa GTS range is a scooter currently manufactured by Piaggio under the Vespa brand. GTS stands for Granturismo Sport, while the 250ie is the displacement and electronic fuel injection. History The GTS 250ie is a development of the design direction, and restyled, from the Vespa GT200. Along with the engine changes are digital gauges, a tachometer, chrome fender-crest, chrome horn grill, restyled rear fairings/taillight, chrome foldable rack, redesigned centerstand, non-painted front suspension cover, and a restyled seat. Aprilia is an Italian motorcycle manufacturer founded immediately after World War II in Noale, Italy, by Alberto Beggio. Scomadi is a brand of British designed scooters, produced in Thailand. History Beginnings Scomadi scooters started in 2005, founded by Frank Sanderson of Scooter Innovation Ltd and Paul Melici of PM Tuning Ltd. Scomadi Headquarters was based in Olympia House, London Road, Preston, Lancashire, England. The two founders, with 60 years of experience between them, put together 10 prototypes named Turismo Leggera (TL), which were 250cc engine capacity These were sold quickly.
