Schwäbischer Albverein
The Schwäbischer Albverein e. V (Swabian Jura Association) (SAV) is one of the oldest hiking clubs in Germany. Based in Stuttgart, the society was founded on August 13, 1888 in Plochingen, Baden-Württemberg. Its territory extends far beyond the Swabian Jura north to the Tauber river and south to the Lake Constance, including the former territory of Württemberg except for the part of the Black Forest previously part of Württemberg (Calw and Freudenstadt). It is enrolled in the register of associations of the district court of Stuttgart (VR 2430). The number of members grew rapidly, from 519 in 1889 to about 20,000 in 1897, 44,000 in 1926, 60,000 in 1955, and 100,000 in 1971. Today it is the largest German and European hiking club. Plochingen
Plochingen ( Swabian: ''Blocheng'' or ''Blochenga'') is a town in the district of Esslingen in Baden-Württemberg in southern Germany. It lies on the river Neckar, on which it has a river port. With about 14,000 inhabitants, it is part of the Stuttgart Metropolitan Region. Burg Teck
Teck Castle (german: Burg Teck) was a ducal castle in the kingdom of Württemberg, immediately to the north of the Swabian Jura and south of the town of Kirchheim unter Teck (now in the district of Esslingen). The castle took its name from the Teckberg ridge, 2,544 feet high, which it crowned. It was destroyed in the German Peasants' War (1525). The site's current buildings were constructed during the 19th and 20th centuries on the ruins of the original castle. Buildings In 1889, an observation tower (called the ''Teckturm'') with a refuge shelter was built and inaugurated on 1 September 1889. A hall was built in 1933 near the tower, called Mörike Hall (''Mörikehalle''). Since 6 June 1941, the buildings have been owned by the Schwäbischer Albverein. Römerstein is a municipality in Baden-Württemberg, Germany; three formerly independent villages (Böhringen, Donnstetten, Zainingen) and two hamlets (Strohweiler and Aglishardt) were merged in 1975. Hagberg (Welzheim Forest)
The Hagberg is a hill, , in the county of Ostalbkreis in the German state of Baden-Württemberg. It is the second highest point of the Swabian-Franconian Forest, a natural region and forested hill range in the northeast of the state.
