Alexander Schur
Alexander Schur (born 23 July 1971) is a former German footballer. Schur played for more than ten years for Eintracht Frankfurt and is a legend for the Eintracht supporters due to his fighting spirit and his club loyalty. Arguably his most important goal was the header for the 6–3 against SSV Reutlingen in the 2002–03 season of the Second Bundesliga that assured the promotion of ''the eagles''. On 22 May 2004 he an Eintracht supporters club, named itself after him, the EFC oldSCHURhand. After retiring Schur started the 2007–08 season as assistant manager of the Eintracht Frankfurt Under-19 team. In December 2007 he was appointed assistant manager of the reserve squad, Eintracht Frankfurt U23. After the 2008–09 campaign he was appointed under-17 manager of the Eintracht academy. Dina Feitelson
Dina Feitelson ( he, דינה פייטלסון), also known as Dina Feitelson-Schur ( he, דינה פייטלסון-שור) (born 1926; died 1992), was an Israeli educator and scholar in the field of reading acquisition. Biography Dina Schur was born in 1926 in Vienna, and emigrated to Mandate Palestine in 1934. She studied in the Herzliya Hebrew Gymnasium in the 32nd class, which graduated in 1944. After graduating she studied philosophy in the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. Her studies were interrupted by 1948 Arab–Israeli War. During the war she suffered a severe head injury. After graduating she worked as an elementary school teacher and later as an inspector for the Ministry of Education. In parallel she also embarked upon an academic career, initially in the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. Then, in 1973, she accepted a post at the University of Haifa, where she became a professor of Education. She continued to work there till her death in 1992. Awards and recognition In ... Friedrich Schur
Friedrich Heinrich Schur (27 January 1856, Maciejewo, Krotoschin, Province of Posen – 18 March 1932, Breslau) was a German mathematician who studied geometry. Life and work Schur's family was originally Jewish, but converted to Protestantism. His father owned an estate. He attended high school in Krotoschin and in 1875 studied at University of Wroclaw astronomy and mathematics under Heinrich Schröter and Jacob Rosanes. He then went to the Berlin University, where he studied under Karl Weierstrass, Ernst Eduard Kummer, Leopold Kronecker and Gustav Kirchhoff and received his doctorate in 1879 from Kummer: ''Geometrische Untersuchungen über Strahlenkomplexe ersten und zweiten Grades''. In 1880, he passed the exam and the same year qualified as a teacher at the University of Leipzig. After that, he was an assistant professor and in 1884 became an assistant to Felix Klein in Leipzig. Fritz Henrik Schur Junior (born 27 November 1951) is a Danish businessman with ties to both royal, business and political circles in Denmark. Fritz Schur has since 1999 been honorary consul general of Finland to Denmark. Early life and education Schur was born in Vejle on 27 November 1951. He is fifth generation of a wealthy merchant family. He grew up in Gentofte and graduated from Ordrup Gymnasium in 1970. Issai Schur
Issai Schur (10 January 1875 – 10 January 1941) was a Russian mathematician who worked in Germany for most of his life. He studied at the University of Berlin. He obtained his doctorate in 1901, became lecturer in 1903 and, after a stay at the University of Bonn, professor in 1919. As a student of Ferdinand Georg Frobenius, he worked on group representations (the subject with which he is most closely associated), but also in combinatorics and number theory and even theoretical physics. He is perhaps best known today for his result on the existence of the Schur decomposition and for his work on group representations (Schur's lemma). Schur published under the name of both I. Schur, and J. Schur, the latter especially in ''Journal für die reine und angewandte Mathematik''. This has led to some confusion. Philipp Johann Ferdinand Schur (February 18, 1799 – May 27, 1878) was a German-Austrian pharmacist and botanist born in Königsberg. He obtained his education in Königsberg and Berlin, later serving as a director of a chemical factory in Liesing (Vienna). Täve Schur
Gustav-Adolf "Täve" Schur (born 23 February 1931) is a former East German cyclist. He was born in Heyrothsberge, Saxony. His sporting career began with SC DHfK Leipzig. He was the first German to win the amateur competition of the World Cycling Championships and the Peace Race. Between 1959 and 1990 Schur was a member of the Volkskammer, the East German parliament. Life "Täve" Schur (a shortening of Gustav) grew up near Magdeburg. He only took up cycling aged 19 and won the highest honors an amateur cyclist could reach. Schur won the East German championships 6 times in that period and won the GDR tour 4 times. In 1953 he had a great stake in East Germany winning the blue jersey of the best team at the Peace Race.
