Schubart-Literaturpreis
The Schubart-Literaturpreis is a Germany literary prize donated by the city of Aalen since 1956 in honor of the 18th-century poet Christian Friedrich Daniel Schubart. It is one of the oldest literary awards of Baden-Württemberg. The main prize, which is 15,000 euros as of 2015 (: €20,000), is presented every two years on Schubart's birthday to German-language writers whose literary or journalistic achievement "is in the tradition of the liberal and enlightened thought of Daniel Schubart." A runner-up prize (called ''Förderpreis'') of 5,000 euros (: €7,000) has also presented since 2011. Aalen
Aalen () is a former Free Imperial City located in the eastern part of the German state of Baden-Württemberg, about east of Stuttgart and north of Ulm. It is the seat of the Ostalbkreis district and is its largest town. It is also the largest town in the Ostwürttemberg region. Since 1956, Aalen has had the status of Große Kreisstadt (major district town). It is noted for its many half-timbered houses constructed from the 16th century through the 18th century. With an area of 146.63 km2, Aalen is ranked 7th in Baden-Württemberg and 2nd within the Government Region of Stuttgart, after Stuttgart. Margarete Dorothea Hannsmann (née Wurster; February 10, 1921 – March 29, 2007) was a German writer, best remembered for her numerous volumes of poetry, prose, travelogues, and radio plays. Peter Härtling
Peter Härtling (; 13 November 1933 – 10 July 2017) was a German writer, poet, publisher and journalist. He received the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany for his major contribution to German literature. Biography Härtling was born in Chemnitz, and spent the early part of his childhood living in Hartmannsdorf, Mittweida, where his father maintained a law firm. Following the outbreak of World War II, the family moved to the German-occupied town of Olomouc in Moravia. Like many of the town's German residents, Härtling's family fled before the Red Army's advance on the city during the final months of the war; the family briefly settled in Zwettl, Austria. Härtling's father was captured by the Russians, and died in June 1945 at the prisoner-of-war camp in Dollersheim. Roland (; frk, *Hrōþiland; lat-med, Hruodlandus or ''Rotholandus''; it, Orlando or ''Rolando''; died 15 August 778) was a Frankish military leader under Charlemagne who became one of the principal figures in the literary cycle known as the Matter of France.
