Schreibkraft
''Schreibkraft'' is an Austrian literary magazine, which was founded in 1998 by the Literature Council of the Forum Stadtpark in Graz (Styria). The magazine prints feature articles. Since 1999 the ''edition schreibkraft'' is the publisher. ''Schreibkraft'' appears twice a year. Every issue has a specific topic. The essays and feature articles are chosen by the five editors (Hermann Götz, Robert Hutter, Hannes Luxbacher, Andreas R. Peternell, Werner Schandor). In addition, the magazine publishes some narrative texts and book reviews; the latter review primarily books from small publishing houses. List Of Magazines In Austria
As of 2012 the magazine sector in Austria was under the dominance of Germany. This influence decreased at the end of the 1990s, but it continued on the women's magazines and fashion magazines. However, business magazines have not been subject to the dominance of Germany. The major fields of Austrian magazines are news, popular science and special interest topics. On the other hand, since the Austrian press market is divided between magazines and newspapers, magazines have a significant function in the press market. Christine Werner
Christine Werner (born 26 August 1954 in Vienna) is an Austrian writer. She is the author of dramas, literary cabaret, radio plays, net art, photographic art, poetry and narrative prose. Biography Christine Werner was born in 1954 in Vienna, Austria; today she is living in Vienna and Styria. In her own words, she is ''an author, an action artist and an artist for the Net''. She is a playwright, and she writes literary cabaret, poetry, radio plays, short stories and novels. Christine Werner is a member of the Austrian authors' associations Grazer Autorenversammlung (GAV), Literary Circle of Linz and ÖDA (Austrian Authors writing in Dialect). Andreas Okopenko
Andreas Okopenko (15 March 1930, Košice – 27 June 2010, Vienna) was an Austrian writer. Andreas Okopenko's father was a Ukrainian physician and his mother was Austrian. From 1939, the family lived in Vienna. After studying chemistry at the University of Vienna Okopenko was active in the industry. Starting from 1950 he dedicated himself increasingly to the literature. From 1951 to 1953, he created a literature magazine, in which he published works by numerous members of the Austrian avant-garde of that time. From 1968 until his death he lived as a freelance writer in Vienna. Okopenko was, from 1973 to 1985, a member of the Grazer author meeting and from 1999 until his death he was a member of the Austrian art senate. Werner Schwab
Werner Schwab (4 February 1958 – 1 January 1994) was an Austrian playwright and visual artist. Biography From 1978 to 1982 he studied sculpture at the Akademie der bildenden Künste in Vienna. During the 1980s he worked as a sculptor and woodcutter. Schwab was a heavy drinker who was said to have written his plays late at night while listening to loud music (particularly the band Einstürzende Neubauten, whom he was friends with). His body was found on New Year's Day 1994. Work Schwab's first play ''Die Präsidentinnen'' (sometimes translates as ''First Ladies'' or ''Holy mothers''), was produced at the Theater im Künstlerhaus in Vienna in 1990. Between then and his death four years later he wrote sixteen plays, eight of which were produced during his lifetime, making his career one of the briefest, most spectacular and most controversial in contemporary German-language theatre. Franz Schuh (writer)
Franz Schuh (born 15 March 1947) is an Austrian novelist, literary critic and, above all, essayist in the tradition of Karl Kraus and Alfred Polgar. Schuh was born, and lives, in Vienna, where, just like his predecessors, he prefers to write in one of the traditional coffeehouses. Life Franz Schuh studied philosophy, history and German studies in Vienna and graduated with his doctorate. 1976-80 he was Secretary General of the Grazer Autorenversammlung, then editor of "Wespennest" (wasp nest) and head of the essayist and literary program of the publisher Deuticke. He works as a freelancer for various broadcasters and national newspapers and as a lecturer at the University of Applied Arts Vienna. Peter Rosei
Peter Rosei (born in Vienna on 17 June 1946) is an Austrian literary writer. Rosei attended the University of Vienna, where he earned a doctorate in law in 1968. He worked for a time as the personal assistant to the Viennese painter Ernst Fuchs and then as the director of a publishing house for textbooks and nonfiction. Since 1972 he has been a freelance writer, publishing novels, stories, essays, poetry, plays, travelogues, and children's literature. He has traveled extensively and intensively throughout the world and has been a guest writer at Oberlin College, Bowling Green State University, and the University of New Mexico at Taos, as well as guest professor at the University of Nagoya, Japan.
