Ferdinand Louis Schlemmer
Ferdinand Louis Schlemmer (September 26, 1892 – 1947) was an American artist. Biography Ferdinand Louis 'Fritz' Schlemmer was born and raised in Crawfordsville, Indiana, the son of Otto and Louise (Miller) Schlemmer. He enrolled in Wabash College but soon left to study art in Chicago. He was noted as an athletic swimmer and basketball player. Along with Harold Heaton, Earl Russell, Fern Hobart Doubleday, he was extremely active for a couple of years in the "Paris Players" group traveling all over the United States to give performances for Chautauquas. While in Muskegon, Michigan the local Chronicle noted that their "Man Outside," was "screamingly funny," and the "most enjoyed program in this year's Chautauqua." Their group was embodied in the Redpath Chautauqua company. Hans Schlemmer
__NOTOC__ Johann Schlemmer (18 January 1893 – 26 June 1973) was a German general during World War II who commanded the LXXV Army Corps. He was a recipient of the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross with Oak Leaves. Schlemmer surrendered to Allied troops in Italy in 1945. Life and career Johann Schlemmer was born in Nesselwang in Bavaria on 18 January 1893. Joining the German Army in 1913, he served in World War I as a lieutenant in the Bavarian Artillery. He remained in the army after 1918. At the outbreak of World War II he commanded first a battalion, then a regiment, of mountain artillery, before being promoted to general officer rank, commanding the 134th Infantry Division. He ended the war as a General of Mountain Troops, commanding the LXXV Army Corps in Italy. He surrendered to Allied troops in Italy in 1945. Max Schlemmer
Maximilian Joseph August Schlemmer (April 13, 1856 – June 13, 1935), known as the "King of Laysan," was a German immigrant to the United States who settled in Hawaii and spent fifteen years from 1894 to 1915 living with his family on the Hawaiian island of Laysan as superintendent of a guano mining operation. Schlemmer was interested in the birdlife of the island and made several studies which provide information on historic bird populations. However, Schlemmer and his family unwittingly introduced rabbits to Laysan, leading to the extinction of the Laysan rail and Laysan millerbird and permanently changed the island's ecology in the early 20th century. Oskar Schlemmer
Oskar Schlemmer (4 September 1888 – 13 April 1943) was a German painter, sculptor, designer and choreographer associated with the Bauhaus school. In 1923, he was hired as Master of Form at the Bauhaus theatre workshop, after working at the workshop of sculpture. His most famous work is '' Triadisches Ballett'' (Triadic Ballet), which saw costumed actors transformed into geometrical representations of the human body in what he described as a "party of form and colour". Raymond Schlemmer was a seminal figure in the early history of Scouting in France, from 1922 to 1952. Career In late 1937, French Scouting sent Scoutmaster Schlemmer to the Cambodian, Laotian, and Vietnamese areas of Indochina to oversee the setting up of the Fédération Indochinoise des Associations du Scoutisme (FIAS, Indochinese Federation of Scouting Associations) in all three regions. Sebastian Schlemmer is a German actor and well known for his role of Sebastian von Lahnstein in the soap opera ''Verbotene Liebe (Forbidden Love)''. Before his television career, Schlemmer appeared on several plays on the theater since 2000. He mostly was part of the theater scene in and around Cologne.
