Fritz Schenk
Fritz Schenk (10 March 1930, Helbra – 4 May 2006, Frankfurt am Main) was a German publicist, journalist and television anchorman. He became well known for the general public thanks to his participation in '' ZDF-Magazin''. Family Schenk was born into a politically active and traditionally social democratic family in Helbra. A number of his family members were persecuted by Nazis in the Third Reich. His father was a hydraulic engineer and worked for years managing a waterworks in Harz region, which belonged to the German Democratic Republic after 1949. When Fritz Schenk later escaped to the Federal Republic of Germany, his father was dismissed from the job and died of heart infarction on 10 November 1962 after an interrogation by the Stasi. Gretchen Knief Schenk (October 1, 1901 – May 16, 1989) was an American librarian, who served as Washington State Library, Washington State Librarian from 1942 to 1945, and as president of the Alabama Library Association from 1949 to 1950. Karl Schenk
Johann Karl Emmanuel Schenk (1 December 1823 – 18 July 1895) was a Swiss pastor, politician, and member of the Swiss Federal Council from 1863 until his death in 1895. Serving for , he was the longest-serving member in the Federal Council. Later in life he became one of the first leaders of the Swiss Red Cross. Life and work Schenk was born in 1823 in Bern, Switzerland, as the son of Christian Schenk. At the age of eleven, he became an orphan and lived in Korntal (Germany). Career In 2001, she won the European Junior Championships in women's singles. 2003 saw her win the women's doubles with Nicole Grether in two tournaments, the Irish International and the Bitburger Open. He served as bishop of the Diocese of Crookston in Minnesota (1945–1960) and bishop of the Diocese of Duluth in Minnesota (1960–1969). Berthold von Schenk (1895–1974) was a pastor of Lutheran Church–Missouri Synod and pioneer of Lutheran liturgical renewal. Christian Schenk (; born 9 February 1965 in Rostock, East Germany) is a former decathlete who competed for East Germany and Germany. He won the gold medal in the decathlon in the 1988 Summer Olympics, held in Seoul, South Korea. Schenk also won a bronze medal at the 1991 World Championships in Athletics in Tokyo. Isobel May "Mysie" Schenk, BEM (''née'' Johnston; 10 January 1898 – 6 October 1980) was a Christian missionary who worked for many years alongside her husband, Rev. Rodolphe Samuel Schenk (1888–1969), at the Mount Margaret Mission in Western Australia. Rev. Schenk established the mission in 1921, under the auspices of the ''Aboriginal Inland Mission'' (later the ''United Aborigines Mission'' (UAM)). She was born in Prahran, Victoria in 1898 to William Johnston and Mary Marcella McKay Johnston. She was a typist when she met Rodolphe Schenk in Melbourne, where they married.
