Scheggino
Scheggino is a ''comune'' (municipality) in the Province of Perugia in the Italian region Umbria, located about 60 km southeast of Perugia. As of January 2020, it had a population of 464 and an area of 35.2 km².All demographics and other statistics: Italian statistical institute Istat. Scheggino borders the following municipalities: Ferentillo, Monteleone di Spoleto, Sant'Anatolia di Narco, Spoleto. Physical geography The small village of Scheggino is located in the heart of the Valnerina, in the south-eastern part of Umbria. The territory is entirely mountainous and is crossed by the river Nera. From the sloping castle set at the top of a rock, Scheggino develops downstream to the village that runs alongside the river, merging into a single complex. La Venuta
La Festa della Venuta della Santa Casa ("The Feast of the Arrival of the Holy House"), colloquially known as La Venuta ("The Arrival") is a traditional festival in the Marche region of Italy, also widespread in some parts of Umbria, which has been held for more than four hundred years on the night between the ninth and tenth of December, lighting large bonfires in cities, towns and the countryside. Description In the General Roman Calendar, 10 December is the feast of Our Lady of Loreto, which celebrates the translation of the Holy House of Loreto, Holy House. Ferentillo is a ''comune'' (municipality) in the Province of Terni in the Italian region Umbria, located about 60 km southeast of Perugia and about 12 km northeast of Terni. The ''comune'', located in the valley of the Nera, is divided by the river into the burghs of Matterella and Precetto. Norcia
Norcia (), traditionally known in English by its Latin name of Nursia (), is a town and comune in the province of Perugia (Italy) in southeastern Umbria. Unlike many ancient towns, it is located in a wide plain abutting the Monti Sibillini, a subrange of the Apennines with some of its highest peaks, near the Sordo River, a small stream that eventually flows into the Nera. Felicitas Of Rome
Felicitas of Rome (c. 101 – 165), also anglicized as is a saint numbered among the Christian martyrs. Apart from her name, the only thing known for certain about this martyr is that she was buried in the Cemetery of Maximus, on the Via Salaria on a 23 November. However, a legend presents her as the mother of the seven martyrs whose feast is celebrated on 10 July. The Eastern Orthodox Church celebrates their martyrdom on 25 January. The Coronation of the Virgin or Coronation of Mary is a subject in Christian art, especially popular in Italy in the 13th to 15th centuries, but continuing in popularity until the 18th century and beyond.
