Alvin Anthony Schall (born April 4, 1944) is a Senior United States circuit judge of the United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit. Early life and education Born in New York City, New York, Schall received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Princeton University in 1966 and a Juris Doctor from Tulane University Law School in 1969. Professional career Schall was in private practice in New York City from 1969 to 1973, before becoming an Assistant United States Attorney in the Eastern District of New York from 1973 to 1978. He was chief of the appeals division from 1977 to 1978, and a trial attorney of the civil division of the United States Department of Justice from 1978 to 1987. He was a senior trial counsel from 1986 to 1987. He briefly returned to private practice in Washington, D.C. from 1987 to 1988, and was then an Assistant to the United States Attorney General from 1988 to 1992. Son Goku was a German rock band who played a mix of hardcore punk, alternative, reggae, and electronic sounds. The band was named after the Son Goku character in the ''Dragon Ball'' series. Son Goku's first and only album, ''Crashkurs'' (Crash course), was released in 2002 and reached a peak position of 15 on the Media Control Charts. Philipp Schall von Bell (died 1560) was the commander-in-chief (''Landmarschall'') of the Livonian Confederation forces during the first two years of the Livonian War (1558–1583). Von Bell was taken prisoner after the disastrous Battle of Ergeme and executed by tsar Ivan IV of Russia. Philipp Schall von Bell joined the Livonian Order around the year 1540. From 1545 he held the post of vice commander (''Hauskomtur'') in Riga and in 1551 he became commander (''Komtur'') of Marienburg (Alūksne). After the Livonian War began in 1558, he became the last Land Marshal or commander-in-chief of the Livonian Order. Anna Margrethe Schall, (17 September 1775 – 24 November 1852), was a Danish ballerina. She was one of the most notable ballet dancers in Denmark. Early life and education Margrethe Schall was the daughter of the sailor Rasmus Schleuther and Anna Kirstine Mortensdatter. Karl Friedrich Schall (16 March 1859 – 19 September 1925) was a German precision engineer and co-founder of the company Reiniger, Gebbert & Schall (RGS) in Erlangen. RGS was a manufacturer and supplier of durable medical equipment and a pioneer in the supply of x-ray equipment worldwide with offices in Berlin, Wien, London, Paris, Rome, Chicago and Sydney. Johann Adam Schall von Bell (1 May 1591 – 15 August 1666) was a German Jesuit, astronomer and instrument-maker. He spent most of his life as a missionary in China (where he is remembered as "Tang Ruowang") and became an adviser to the Shunzhi Emperor of the Qing dynasty. Life Schall von Bell was born to noble parents in Cologne or nearby Lüftelberg (today part of Meckenheim) in the Holy Roman Empire. After he graduated from the Jesuit Gymnasium in Cologne he moved to Rome and studied subjects such as mathematics and astronomy at the Collegium Germanicum. In 1611 he joined the Society of Jesus and continued his education at the Gregorianum. In 1618 he left for China on a Portuguese ship with a group of missionaries under the lead of Nicolas Trigault.
