Scene.org Awards
Scene.org (also known as ''The International Scene Organization'') is a non-profit organization, providing the currently largest demoscene file repository. It was founded in 1996 by Jaakko "Mellow-D" Manninen, though originally it existed as ''ftp.fm.org'', an FTP-server for releases from the group Five Musicians. In 1997, it re-opened as Scene.org. After the ''Hornet Archive'' closed on September 22, 1998, scene.org became the only prominent demoscene-FTP available and quickly became the host of many other releases as well. The Scene.org servers are hosted in Rotterdam, at the local university. They measure 150-200 GB of traffic each day (as of May 2006) and host about 1.1 TB of demoscene-related data (as of June 2013). The main server is mirrored onto various others, residing in different countries. It is currently sponsored by, among others, Pixar. Horizon (Demoscene)
The horizon is the apparent line that separates the surface of a celestial body from its sky when viewed from the perspective of an observer on or near the surface of the relevant body. This line divides all viewing directions based on whether it intersects the relevant body's surface or not. The ''true horizon'' is a theoretical line, which can only be observed to any degree of accuracy when it lies along a relatively smooth surface such as that of Earth's oceans. At many locations, this line is obscured by terrain, and on Earth it can also be obscured by life forms such as trees and/or human constructs such as buildings. The resulting intersection of such obstructions with the sky is called the ''visible horizon''. Instinct (Demoscene)
Instinct is the inherent inclination of a living organism towards a particular complex behaviour, containing both innate (inborn) and learned elements. The simplest example of an instinctive behaviour is a fixed action pattern (FAP), in which a very short to medium length sequence of actions, without variation, are carried out in response to a corresponding clearly defined stimulus. Any behaviour is instinctive if it is performed without being based upon prior experience (that is, in the absence of learning), and is therefore an expression of innate biological factors. Sea turtles, newly hatched on a beach, will instinctively move toward the ocean. A marsupial climbs into its mother's pouch upon being born. The Dreams
The Dreams was a punk rock band from Tórshavn, Faroe Islands formed in 2006. They were based in Denmark along with their producer Lars Pedersen. They also have had success in the Faroe Islands, and all across Europe. Band history Early years (2003 - 2005) In 2003 in Tórshavn, friends Hans Edward Andreasen, Heini Mortensen, Heðin Egholm Skov and Edmund í Garði, formed a punk band called 'Zink'. Heðin left the band in 2004, to be replaced by Eirikur Gilstón Corfitz Andersen. In the same year, they released an album called ''Totally Love Songs'', which contained songs in both Faroese and English. The band was active until late 2004, when Edmund í Garði decided to leave the band due to conflicting interests regarding the band's musical style. Hans Edward Andreasen, Heini Mortensen and Eirikur Gilstón Corfitz Andersen decided to continue the band under the name "The Dreams".
