''Scarecrow Messiah'' is the sixth album by the band Bride, and is the follow-up to their commercial successful album ''Snakes in the Playground''. The album received a Dove Award A Dove Award is an accolade by the Gospel Music Association (GMA) of the United States to recognize outstanding achievement in the Christian music industry. The awards are presented annually. Formerly held in Nashville, Tennessee, the Dove Awards ... for "Hard Music Album of The Year" at the 25th GMA Dove Awards in 1994. Bride (band)
Bride is an American Christian metal band formed in the 1980s, by brothers Dale and Troy Thompson. During the band's peak years it was known for covering a wide range of musical styles and remains popular in places like Brazil. Their song "Same 'Ol Sinner" is on the Digital Praise PC game '' Guitar Praise''. Band history Bride was formed in Louisville, Kentucky in the early 1980s, by brothers Dale and Troy Thompson. Going by the name Matrix at first, the brothers started writing music and recording demos in 1983. They recorded four demos and started selling them at concerts and through magazines. In 1986, the band opened for the Canadian group Daniel Band in Pottstown, Pennsylvania. This performance caught the eye of an agent of Refuge Records. ''Drop'' is the seventh album by the band Bride, released in 1995. The album was the only Bride release on Rugged Records. Its sound was a departure from their earlier efforts, using an alternative rock sound, highlighted by banjo and mandolin, which was well received by critics though not by fans. A Dove Award is an accolade by the Gospel Music Association (GMA) of the United States to recognize outstanding achievement in the Christian music industry. The awards are presented annually. Formerly held in Nashville, Tennessee, the Dove Awards took place in Atlanta, Georgia during 2011 and 2012, but has since moved back to Nashville.
