Scarborough Cricket Club (Australia)
Scarborough Cricket Club plays in the Western Australian Grade Cricket competition, the Retravision Shield. Nicknamed the Gulls, its home ground is Abbett Park. The club was founded in 1946. One of Western Australia's most successful cricket clubs in recent history, Scarborough won the 1st Grade competition in 2006–07, 2007–08, 2008–09 and 2009–10, the first team to win four straight titles since 1919. Scarborough's head coach since 2006 is former Gulls paceman Simon Bowman, while batsman Clint Heron captained the 2008–09 and 2009–10 grand final wins. The club has produced several players who have represented Australia in Test cricket, most notably Justin Langer. Western Australian Grade Cricket
WA Premier Cricket in Western Australia refers to the semi-professional cricket league played at a level below the first-class Western Warriors and other state teams. The competition is administered by the Western Australian Cricket Association. It is the premier club cricket competition in Western Australia and players vying for Western Warriors and national team selection are typically chosen from Premier Cricket competition clubs. Retiring international and first-class players wishing to continue playing will generally return to their original Premier Cricket club. There are currently 16 teams in the competition. Cricket is a bat-and-ball game played between two teams of eleven players on a field at the centre of which is a pitch with a wicket at each end, each comprising two bails balanced on three stumps. Fast bowling (also referred to as pace bowling) is one of two main approaches to bowling in the sport of cricket, the other being spin bowling. Justin Langer
Justin Lee Langer (21 November 1970) is an Australian cricket coach and former cricketer. He is the former coach of the Australia men's national team, having been appointed to the role in May 2018 and leaving in February 2022. A left-handed batsman, Langer is best known for his partnership with Matthew Hayden as Australia's test opening batsmen during the early and mid-2000s, considered one of the most successful ever. Marcus Peter Stoinis (born 16 August 1989) is an Australian cricketer who plays limited overs cricket for the Australian national team. He is contracted to Western Australia and Melbourne Stars domestically, and has previously also played for Perth Scorchers and Victoria as an all rounder. Justin Petrus Coetzee (born 12 June 1984) is a South-Africa-born Australian cricketer who previously played for Western Australia. He is an all-rounder who bats left-handed and is a left-arm medium bowler.
