The Scania N112 (known as the Scania BR112 until 1984) was a transversely-engined step-entrance single-decker bus, double-decker bus and articulated bus chassis manufactured by Scania between 1978 and 1987. BR112DH In 1978, Scania ended a decade-long tie-up with Birmingham-based builder Metro Cammell Weymann (MCW) that had resulted in the Metro-Scania single-decker bus and the Metropolitan double-decker bus. MCW subsequently built its own Metrobus chassis as a replacement for the Metropolitan, while in 1980 Scania launched its own replacement, the BR112DH. The BR112DH was available in two lengths, 9.5m and 10.2m, and was powered by the 11-litre DN11 engine (and later the turbocharged DS11 engine), coupled to either a Scania three-speed or Voith automatic gearbox. MCW Metrobus
The MCW Metrobus is a two and three-axle double-decker bus manufactured by Metro Cammell Weymann (MCW) between 1977 and 1989, with over 4,000 built. The original MkI was superseded by the MkII which had a symmetrical windscreen with an arched top in 1981, although production of the original MkI continued for the Greater Manchester Passenger Transport Executive and London Regional Transport until 1983 and 1985 respectively. The Northern Counties Motor & Engineering Company was an English builder of bus and coach bodywork based in Wigan. History Northern Counties Motor & Engineering Company was founded in Wigan in 1919 by Henry Lewis. The Lewis family remained owners of the company until it was bought out over seventy years later. As was common at the time, early products were bodywork and repairs for private automobiles together with a tyre fitting service.
