''Scandal Proof'' is a 1925 American silent drama film directed by Edmund Mortimer and written by Charles Kenyon. The film stars Shirley Mason, John Roche, Freeman Wood, Hazel Howell, Frances Raymond, and Ruth King. The film was released on May 31, 1925, by Fox Film Corporation. Plot As described in a film magazine review, Grace Whitney uses her inheritance to open up an Oriental shop, but the business is almost bankrupt. Monty Brandster comes in the shop and purchases an expensive jade necklace for Thelma Delores, who looks to be a gold digger. Monte invites Grace to a New Year's Eve party at his home, which proves to be a wild all night affair. Edmund Mortimer (actor)
Edmund Mortimer (born Edmund Mortimer Olson; August 21, 1874 – May 21, 1944) was an American actor and film director. Early years Mortimer's family was "prominent socially in Brooklyn and Washington". His father (also named Edmund Mortimer Olson) was a captain in the U. S. Navy. As a boy, Mortimer sang in church choirs and participated in other musical activities in Brooklyn. His military service included membership; in the Second Naval Battalion and in Company C, 23rd Regiment. Career Mortimer began acting on stage in 1904 and went on to perform with several theatrical companies. He appeared in more than 250 films between 1913 and 1945. He also directed 23 films between 1918 and 1928, including ''The Arizona Romeo'' (1925). Edward Martindel (July 8, 1876 – May 4, 1955) was an American stage and film actor who appeared on Broadway and in more than 80 films between 1915 and 1946. Born in Hamilton, Ohio, he was the son of Dr. and Mrs. Frank Martindell. His singing debut came under the management of Henry Savage.
