Jiří Svoboda (born 5 May 1945 in Kladno) is a Czech people, Czech film and TV director, screenwriter and retired politics, politician. He was leader of the Communist Party of Bohemia and Moravia (KSČM) from 1990 to 1993. In 2017 he received the World Prize for Humanism from the Macedonian-based Ohrid Academy of Humanism. Jana Krausová (; born 25 January 1954) is a Czech actress. She was formerly married to actor Jan Kraus. Krausová is also an experienced artist, having presented works in art exhibitions both in the Czech Republic and abroad. Czechoslovakia submitted films for the Academy Award for Best International Feature Film between 1964 and 1991 before splitting into the independent Czech and Slovakia republics in 1993. The award is handed out annually by the United States Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences to a feature-length motion picture produced outside the United States that contains primarily non-English dialogue. This is a list of submissions to the 58th Academy Awards for Best Foreign Language Film. The Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film was created in 1956 by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences to honour non-English-speaking films produced outside the United States. The award is handed out annually, and is accepted by the winning film's director, although it is considered an award for the submitting country as a whole. Countries are invited by the Academy to submit their best films for competition according to strict rules, with only one film being accepted from each country. For the 58th Academy Awards, thirty films were submitted in the category Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film. Miroslav Macháček (May 8, 1922 – February 17, 1991) was a Czech theatre director and an actor. Life and career Miroslav Macháček was born in Nymburk.
