Saša Zorić
Saša Zorić (; born 2 September 1974) is a Serbian former footballer who played as a midfielder. Club career Born in Gornji Milanovac, Zorić started out at local club Takovo, before joining the youth system of Red Star Belgrade. He would make his senior debut with First League of FR Yugoslavia newcomers Jastrebac Niš during the 1993–94 season. Between 1994 and 1996, Zorić spent two seasons with Obilić. In late 1996, Zorić moved to the United States to play indoor soccer by signing with the Baltimore Spirit on a two-year contract. He totaled 75 appearances and scored 67 goals over his two seasons in the National Professional Soccer League (NPSL). In 1997, Zorić briefly played for the Hershey Wildcats of the A-League. In 1998, Zorić returned to his homeland and rejoined Obilić. He spent two seasons with the club, scoring 14 goals in 49 league games over the next two seasons. Gornji Milanovac
Gornji Milanovac ( sr-Cyrl, Гoрњи Милановац, ) is a town and municipality located in the Moravica District of central Serbia. The population of the town is 24,216, while the population of the municipality is 44,406. The town was founded in 1853. Before 1859 the original name of the town was Despotovica ( sr-Cyrl, Деспотовица), after the Despotovica river passing by the town. In 1859 the name was changed to Gornji Milanovac at the request of the Prince of Serbia Miloš Obrenović. Its name means ''Upper Milanovac'' (there is a Lower Milanovac as well, while Milanovac stems from the name Milan in Serbian). Kirin Cup
The is an association football tournament organised in Japan by the Kirin Brewery Company. The host, Japan, is a participant in every edition. The tournament was founded in 1978 then known as Japan Cup (International competition which national teams and clubs participated in), and was last held in its full form in 2022. From 1992 onwards, the format was changed to a round robin national team competition. The first nation to win the competition was Argentina. Japan are the tournament's most successful team with eleven titles, followed by Peru with three titles. As of 2022, the current cup holders are Tunisia. The 2000–01 First League of FR Yugoslavia was the ninth season of the FR Yugoslavia's top-level football league since its establishment. It was contested by 18 teams, and Red Star Belgrade won the championship. Incidents Eternal derby abandoned The 115th edition of the Eternal derby match between Red Star Belgrade and FK Partizan on Saturday, 14 October 2000 at the Marakana was abandoned after three minutes of play due to fan rioting. The incident began with Partizan fans, Grobari, pelting the pitch with flares at which point the match play got interrupted. The rioting kept escalating with the southern stand seating being torn off by the Grobari and thrown onto the athletic track. At one point, the team captain Saša Ilić was seen in front of the stand pleading to no avail with the Partizan ultra supporters to stop rioting. Statistics of First League of FR Yugoslavia ( sr, Пpвa савезна лига, Prva savezna liga) for the 1993–94 season. Overview The league was divided into 2 groups, A and B, consisting each of 10 clubs. Both groups were played in league system. By winter break all clubs in each group meet each other twice, home and away, with the bottom four classified from A group moving to the group B, and being replaced by the top four from the B group. At the end of the season the same situation happened with four teams being replaced from A and B groups, adding the fact that the bottom three clubs from the B group were relegated into the Second League of FR Yugoslavia for the next season and replaced by the top three from that league.
