Saša Habić
Aleksandar "Saša" Habić (Serbian Cyrillic: Саша Хабић; born 17 March 1956) is a Serbian and former Yugoslav musician, record producer and composer. During his career as a producer he worked with artists like Piloti, Divlji Anđeli, U Škripcu, Jakarta, Beograd, Dorian Gray, Laki Pingvini, Bebi Dol, Željko Bebek, Luna, Laza Ristovski, Slomljena Stakla, Bajaga i Instruktori, Zana, Kornelije Kovač, Alisa, Dejan Cukić, Oktobar 1864, Rambo Amadeus, YU grupa, Galija, Nikola Čuturilo, Riblja Čorba, Kerber, Vampiri, Ruž, Regina, Van Gogh, Generacija 5, Familija, Smak, Zdravko Čolić, Dragoljub Đuričić, Cactus Jack, and others. Career Habić studied at Belgrade Music Academy, string instruments department. Dorian Gray (band)
Dorian Gray was a 1980s Yugoslav music group which achieved great prominence in the former Yugoslav rock scene for its artistic and extravagant style and stage performances. It was led by Massimo Savić, who later started a successful solo career. It should not be confused with the short-lived 1970s German band of the same name. Biography The band was formed in 1982 in Zagreb, then SR Croatia, SFR Yugoslavia consisting of the frontman Massimo Savić (vocals, guitar), Vedran Čupić (guitar), Emil Krnjić (bass guitar), Toni Ostojić (keyboards), and Branko Terzić (drums), who suggested the name ''Dorian Gray'' after the Oscar Wilde's fictional character Dorian Gray. Antonije Pušić (; born 14 June 1963), known professionally as Rambo Amadeus () is a Montenegrin author. A self-titled "musician, poet, and media manipulator", he is a noted artist across the countries of former Yugoslavia. His songs combine satirical lyrics on human nature and the silliness of local politics with a mixture of musical styles including jazz, rock, hip-hop and lately drum and bass, and self-conscious ironic wit; for example, his most popular alias is "Rambo Amadeus Svjetski Kilo Car" ("Rambo Amadeus the World Kilo Tzar"), formerly "Rambo Amadeus Svjetski Mega Car" ("Rambo Amadeus the World Mega Tzar") (RASMC) (changed in 2012 because of his belief in the importance of modesty in an environmentally conscious society). Oktobar 1864
Oktobar 1864 ( sr-cyr, Октобар 1864; trans. ''October 1864'') was a Serbian and former Yugoslav rock band. Biography 1984 – 1992 Oktobar 1864 was formed in 1984 in Zemun by Goran Tomanović and have changed several line-ups before they won the Best demo Band Award at the MESAM festival in 1986. Goran Tomanović looked for first band members over the newspaper ads. The band had its first big performance in 1985 when they performed in Taš club in Belgrade, and that is when Tanja Jovićević, the band's lead singer, joined the group. After this, the band started the work on their debut, self-titled, album. The album was recorded in November and December 1986 in O Studio in Belgrade and produced by Saša Habić. Dejan Cukić
Dejan Cukić ( sr-cyr, Дејан Цукић; born November 4, 1959) is a Serbian rock musician, journalist, writer and translator. During the late 1970s and early 1980s, Cukić was the frontman of the new wave band Bulevar, releasing two albums with the band. After Bulevar disbanded in 1982, he dedicated himself to journalism. He returned to music in 1984, when he became one of the vocalists of the rock/pop rock band Bajaga i Instruktori, with which he recorded three studio albums. In 1987, he released his first solo album, and soon after left Bajaga i Instruktori to pursue solo career, which spans to the present day. In 1988, Cukić formed his backing band, Spori Ritam Band. Alisa (Serbian Band)
Alisa ( sr-cyr, Алиса; Slavic analogue to the female name Alice) is a Serbian and Yugoslav pop rock band formed in Belgrade in 1984. Alisa gained nationwide popularity in the late 1980s, disbanding with the outbreak of Yugoslav Wars. The band reunited at the beginning of 2000s, releasing one album before another disbandment. Kornelije Kovač
Kornelije "Bata" Kovač ( sr-Cyrl, Корнелије "Бата" Ковач, ; hu, Kovács Kornél; 1 January 1942 – 13 September 2022) was a Serbian composer. Early life Born in Niš during World War II in the Nazi-occupied Serbia to a Hungarian father and a Serbian mother, Kovač grew up in a prominent artistic family - his grandfather was a conductor, his father a music professor and a violinist, his mother a singer in the opera choir. Kovač received his early music education at the College of Music in Subotica, after which he attempted to enroll in the Belgrade Music Academy. He did not pass the entrance exam so he entered the Sarajevo Music Academy of University of Sarajevo where he graduated from the Theory And Piano Department. Zana (band)
Zana is a Serbian and Yugoslav rock and pop group formed in Belgrade in 1979. Formed by guitarist Radovan Jovićević, keyboardist Zoran Živanović and vocalist Zana Nimani, Zana was initially a part of the Yugoslav new wave scene. With their second album they turned towards more commercial synthpop sound and achieved large mainstream popularity. Until the mid-1980s the band had moved from their initial new wave and synthpop sound towards pop rock and pop. After the departure of Zana Nimani in 1984, Jovićević and Živanović continued to lead the band, changing two vocalists, Nataša Gajović and Nataša Živković. Lazar "Laza" Ristovski (Serbian Cyrillic: Лаза Ристовски, ; 23 January 1956 – 6 October 2007) was a Serbian and former Yugoslav keyboardist, known for being a member of rock bands Smak and Bijelo Dugme, as well as for his eclectic solo work that spanned many different musical genres. Biography Early life Lazar Ristovski was born in Novi Pazar, as his father, a Yugoslav People's Army officer, was stationed there at the time. Luna (Serbian Band)
Luna ( sr-cyr, Луна; trans. ''The Moon'') was a Serbian and former Yugoslav post-punk/gothic rock band from Novi Sad. Formed on the ashes of the new wave band La Strada and getting the name by the Bernardo Bertolucci film '' La Luna'', Luna quickly gained the public's attention and established a cult status. Owing to Marko Brecelj, a former Buldožer member, who had approached them after a performance in Rijeka, Zoran Bulatović "Bale" (guitar), Slobodan Tišma (vocals), Ivan Fece "Firchie" (drums) and Jasmina Mitrušić "Mina" (keyboards, vocals) got the opportunity to release their debut album.
