Nathan Sawaya
Nathan Sawaya (born July 10, 1973) is an American artist who builds custom three-dimensional sculptures and large-scale mosaics from popular everyday items and is best known for his work with standard LEGO building bricks. Biography Born in Colville, Washington and raised in Veneta, Oregon, Sawaya attended New York University, where he earned bachelor's and law degrees, eventually practicing law at the firm Winston & Strawn in Hollywood. He first came to national attention in 2004, when he left his job as an attorney to work full-time as a LEGO artist. After working for the LEGO company less than six months, he branched off and in 2004 opened an art studio in New York City. As a professional artist, Sawaya is not an employee of the toy company. George Frances Carey Sawaya (August 14, 1923 – September 17, 2003) was an American actor and stuntman. He was best known for playing the role of Detective Lopez on Jack Webb's '' Dragnet''. Life and career Sawaya was born in Los Angeles, California. He served in the United States Army during World War II. Sawaya began his career in 1951, first appearing in the film ''The Lady Says No'', which starred Joan Caulfield and David Niven. He then made his debut as a stunt performer in 1952, where he appeared in the film ''The Narrow Margin''. Sawaya performed as a double for actor Charles McGraw for the film. In the same year, he appeared in the films, '' With a Song in My Heart'', starring Susan Hayward; ''Here Come the Marines'', starring Leo Gorcey and ''What Price Glory'', starring James Cagney, Corinne Calvet and Dan Dailey. Christina Sawaya ( ar, كريستينا صوايا) (born 16 August 1980) is a Lebanese beauty queen. As part of her modelling career, Christina entered a series of pageants between 1998 and 2002 in which she became the winner of Miss University Lebanon in 1998, and was chosen as "Top Lebanon Modeling 1999". In 2001, Sawaya competed against 19 women to become Miss Lebanon 2001, where she won and became eligible to compete in the Miss Universe, Miss World and Miss International pageants. She then represented her country in the Miss World 2001 pageant, wherein she was unplaced. But at the Miss Universe 2002 Pageant, Sawaya decided to drop out of the competition after stating that she would not compete in a pageant together with Miss Israel, Yamit Har-Noy. George Murdock (actor)
George Murdock (born George Sawaya Jr.; June 25, 1930 – April 30, 2012) was an American character actor, especially prolific on television. Early years Murdock was born in Salina, Kansas. He was the second child of seven children born to George R. Sawaya, a Lebanese immigrant, and Olive (Johnson) Sawaya. Career Murdock was known for frequently playing judges, (for instance, Judge Julius Hoffman in West Coast and Chicago stage productions of ''The Chicago Conspiracy Trial'' and in an adaptation for BBC Radio), he also performed the role of "Big Daddy" in Tennessee Williams' '' Cat on a Hot Tin Roof'' with the Arizona Theater Company during the 1988 season.
