Siméon Sawadogo is a Burkinabé politician. He is currently the Minister of State, the Minister of Territorial Administration, the Minister of Decentralization and Social Cohesion. Biography Siméon Sawadogo was born in Sabcé, Bam Province. He earned a master's degree from University of Joseph Ki-Zerbo (present-day University of Ouagadougou). In 1982, he began his career in the public service as a teacher of primary schools. In 1994, he joined the Ministry of Territorial Administration as High Commissioner of the Oubritenga Province in Ziniaré, then of Sanmatenga Province in Kaya. Yacouba Sawadogo is a farmer from Burkina Faso who has been successfully using a traditional farming technique called Zaï to restore soils damaged by desertification and drought. Such techniques are known by the collective terms agroforestry and farmer-managed natural regeneration. A 2010 documentary feature film ''The Man Who Stopped the Desert,'' first screened in the UK, portrays his life. He is a native speaker of Mossi. In 2018, he was awarded the Right Livelihood Award. Salimata or Salamata Sawadogo Tapsoba (born December 31, 1958, in Ouagadougou, Upper Volta) is the former chair of the African Commission on Human and Peoples' Rights. She is also a magistrate, and (as of 2006), the Ambassador of Burkina Faso to Senegal, Mauritania, Guinea, Cape Verde and Gambia.
