Savvas The New Of Kalymnos
Saint Savvas of Kalymnos (also known as Saint Savvas the New) is the patron saint of the Greek island of Kalymnos, where he lived during the last twenty years of his life as the priest and spiritual father of the nuns of the Convent of All Saints. He was a great ascetic, confessor, icon painter, and miracle-worker. He is one of the recently recognized saints in the Greek Orthodox Church. He died on 7 April 1947 and his remains were exhumed 10 years later in 1957. Savvas Poursaitidis ( el, Σάββας Πουρσαϊτίδης, born 23 June 1976) is a former professional footballer who most recently was the manager of Cypriot First Division club APOEL. Poursaitidis played football, mainly as a right back, in his native Greece from 1994 to 2002 before moving to Cyprus where his playing career continued for a further ten years. In 2009 he received Cypriot citizenship and represented that country at international level. In 2016, he began his senior managerial career, also in Cyprus. Savvas Ysatis (born July 1, 1968) is a Greek electronic musician. Early life Ysatis was born in Athens, Greece, and developed an interest in the synthesizer through exposure to electronic music by artists such as Kraftwerk and Jean Michel Jarre in the late 1970s. At age 15, he left Greece to move to New York City, where he acquired some musical equipment and began experimenting. His early ambient solo work was produced under the moniker Omicron. He met and started working with Taylor Deupree in 1993 and released a number of albums and tracks, with a variety of styles and under a few different names. Ysatis and Deupree released their ambient work as Seti, their jazzy trip hop as Futique, and their more dance-oriented work as Arc. Savvas Kyriakou Tsitouridis (; born 3 February 1954 in Kilkis) is a Greek politician and member of the New Democracy and former Minister for Employment and Social Protection. He studied law at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, France and Britain. Tsitouridis worked for the European Commission in Brussels from 1981 to 1990 and 1995 to 1996 on matters pertaining to agriculture, competition, state subsidies and the internal market. Savvas Tsabouris ( el, Σάββας Τσαμπούρης; born 16 July 1986) is a Greek former professional footballer who played as a right-back.
