Savinsky, Arkhangelsk Oblast
Savinsky (russian: Савинский) is an urban locality (a work settlement) in Plesetsky District of Arkhangelsk Oblast, Russia, located northwest of Plesetsk and west of the Sheleksa railway station, on the right bank of the Yemtsa River. Municipally, it is the administrative center of Savinskoye Urban Settlement, one of the eight urban settlements in the district. Population: . History Savinskaya Volost already existed in the 19th century and was a part of Onezhsky Uyezd of Arkhangelsk Governorate. In 1929, Plesetsky District was established, which included Savinsky Selsoviet. In the years that followed, the territory of the selsoviet was modified several times; in particular, the urban-type settlement of Yemtsa was split in 1941. M8 Highway (Russia)
The Russian route M8 "Kholmogory" (russian: М-8 «Холмогоры») or Yaroslavl highway (russian: Ярославское шоссе), is a major trunk road that links Moscow to the Russian North in general and the sea harbour of Arkhangelsk in particular. The road runs north of Moscow across a distance of 1271 kilometres through Mytishchi, Pushkino, Sergiyev Posad, Pereslavl-Zalessky, Rostov the Great, Yaroslavl, Danilov, Gryazovets, Vologda, Kadnikov, Velsk, Kholmogory, and Arkhangelsk, ending up in the city of Severodvinsk. Yemtsa (russian: Е́мца) is a rural locality (a settlement) in Plesetsky District of Arkhangelsk Oblast, Russia, located north of Plesetsk and south of Arkhangelsk. Within the framework of municipal divisions, it serves as the administrative center of Yemtsovskoye Rural Settlement, one of the thirteen rural settlements in the district. Population: . Yemtsa River
The Yemtsa or Yomtsa (russian: Емца, Ёмца) is a river in Plesetsky and Kholmogorsky Districts and in the town of Mirny of Arkhangelsk Oblast in Russia. It is a left tributary of the Northern Dvina. It is long, and the area of its basin . Its main tributaries are the Mekhrenga (right), the Tyogra (left), the Vaymuga (left), and the Bolshaya Chacha (right).
