Chance The Rapper
Chancelor Johnathan Bennett (born April 16, 1993), known professionally as Chance the Rapper, is an American rapper, singer-songwriter, and record producer. Born and raised in Chicago, Bennett released his debut mixtape '' 10 Day'' in 2012. He began to gain mainstream recognition in 2013 after releasing his second mixtape, '' Acid Rap''. He then released his third mixtape, ''Coloring Book'' in 2016, which garnered further critical acclaim and attention. Kene Ekwunife (born January 5, 1993), better known by his stage names Kami (sometimes stylized as KAMI) and Kami de Chukwu, is an American rapper from Chicago, Illinois. Preston Oshita (born June 26, 1993), better known by his stage name Towkio, is an American rapper from Chicago, Illinois. He was previously known as Young P, Preston San, and Tokyo Shawn. Joseph Davis (born August 3, 1993), better known by his stage name Joey Purp, is an American rapper from Chicago, Illinois. He is one half of Leather Corduroys. He is one of the founding members of Savemoney. Early life Joseph Davis grew up bouncing between various neighborhoods of Chicago, ranging from Wrigleyville to Humboldt Park. His father ran a restaurant and his mother managed thrift stores. He attended Whitney Young High School, where he realized that he had a talent for freestyle rapping. He is part of the hip hop collective Savemoney with Chance the Rapper and Vic Mensa, among others. He was a member of the band Kids These Days, which broke up in 2013, and currently performs in the band The Social Experiment.
