''Saurocephalus'' (from el, σαῦρος , 'lizard' and el, κεφαλή 'head') is an extinct genus of ray-finned fishes within the family Saurodontidae.Maisey, J. G.1991. ''Daptinus'' is an extinct genus of ichthyodectid fishes within the subfamily Saurodontinae, from the Late Cretaceous (Coniacian- Campanian) Niobrara Formation of Alabama, that was originally named as a species of ''Saurocephalus'' (''S. phlebotomus'') in 1870 by Edward Drinker Cope, Cope, E. Harrana
Harrana (named after Qasr Kharana, an archeological Umayyad desert palace in the area) is part of the Jordan eastern plateau some 60 kilometers southeast of Amman city. *Al-Hunjul, Nasfat Gh. Ichthyodectiformes is an extinct order of marine stem-teleost ray-finned fish. The order is named after the genus '' Ichthyodectes'', established by Edward Drinker Cope in 1870. Ichthyodectiforms are usually considered to be some of the closest relatives of the teleost crown group. They were most diverse throughout the Cretaceous period, though basal forms like '' Thrissops, Occithrissops'' and '' Allothrissops'' are known from the Middle-Late Jurassic of Europe and North America. Most ichthyodectiforms ranged between 1 and 5 meters (3–15 ft) in length. Most of known taxa were predators, feeding on smaller fish; in several cases, larger ichthyodectiforms preyed on smaller members of the order. The Early Cretaceous ( geochronological name) or the Lower Cretaceous (chronostratigraphic name), is the earlier or lower of the two major divisions of the Cretaceous. Barracuda
A barracuda, or cuda for short, is a large, predatory, ray-finned fish known for its fearsome appearance and ferocious behaviour.
