Sauli Zinovjev
Sauli Zinovjev (born 1988) is a Finnish composer. Zinovjev was born in Lahti, and studied composition in Sibelius Academy (2010–15) and in HfM-Karlsruhe (2013–14) under guidance of Tapio Nevanlinna and prof. Wolfgang Rihm. Zinovjev's works are published exclusively by HarrisonParrott's Birdsong Music Publishing. Zinovjev's focus has been on orchestral music and his works have been performed by for example Oslo Philharmonic, Bamberg Symphony Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra, Finnish Radio Symphony Orchestra and Helsinki Philharmonic Orchestra in collaboration with musicians such as Klaus Mäkelä, Pekka Kuusisto, Sakari Oramo, André de Ridder and Okko Kamu . For the season 2021-2022 Zinovjev was granted a fellowship to the Internationales Künstlerhaus Villa Concordia and in 2019 he was appointed as the Composer-in-Residence of the 60th Turku music festival. Turku Music Festival
Turku Music Festival ( fi, Turun musiikkijuhlat, sv, Åbo musikfestspel) is the oldest continuously operating music festival in Finland. The festival was founded in 1960 by the Musical Society in Turku. The city festival offers audiences' big orchestral concerts, chamber music concerts, recitals, jazz, out-door events and concerts. The festival is annually visited by both international and Finnish artists. The festival takes place in several concert halls, churches and other venues in Turku such as the Turku Concert Hall, the Academy Hall, the Turku Cathedral, Sigyn Hall, the Turku Castle and the Sibelius Museum. Oulu Sinfonia
The Oulu Symphony Orchestra ( fi, Oulu Sinfonia or ') is a Finnish orchestra based in Oulu, Finland. Oulu Sinfonia gives concerts primarily at the Oulu Music Centre, in the ''Madetojan sali'' (Madetoja Concert Hall), located in the Karjasilta district, and named for Leevi Madetoja, who was born in Oulu. History The roots of the orchestra date back to 1856, with the first attempts to establish a permanent orchestra in Oulu. The Oulu Music Society (''Oulun Soitannollisen Seuran'') was established in 1901, and worked with such musicians as Toivo Kuula and Jean Sibelius. The current orchestra officially began its activities in 1937, as the Oulu Orchestra. In 1954, the city of Oulu granted the orchestra the rights to use the name of the Oulu City Orchestra, and municipalised the orchestra in 1961. Orchestre De Chambre De Lausanne
The Orchestre de Chambre de Lausanne (OCL, Lausanne Chamber Orchestra) is a Swiss chamber orchestra of around 40 musicians based in Lausanne, Switzerland. It has a vast repertoire, from the earliest baroque to contemporary premieres. The founder Victor Desarzens (1942-1973) was followed by Armin Jordan (1973—1985), then Lawrence Foster (1985-1990), Jesús López Cobos (1990-2000) and Christian Zacharias (2000-2013). From 2015 to 2020, Joshua Weilerstein continued the work of his predecessors while at the same time positioning the OCL for the 21st century, programming classical and contemporary pieces and using new media. Kymi Sinfonietta
The Kymi Sinfonietta is a sinfonietta-sized orchestra based in two Finnish cities, Kotka and Kouvola. The Kymi Sinfonietta was formed in 1999 after merging the Kotka and Kouvola City Orchestras and it is currently an ensemble of 31 regular players. Kymi Sinfonietta’s public performances range from about 100 to nearly 200 performances per year. Concerts by the Kymi Sinfonietta are held at Kotka Concert Hall on Wednesdays and Kouvola City Hall or Kuusankoski Hall on Thursdays. The Kymi Sinfonietta has a very broad repertoire ranging from small chamber works to large symphonies and also lighter programs. Tapiola Sinfonietta
The Tapiola Sinfonietta (founded 1987) is a city orchestra of Espoo, Finland. The orchestra consists of 41 members and its principal concert venue is Tapiola Hall (with 773 seats) at the Espoo Cultural Centre. At the beginning Jorma Panula, Osmo Vänskä, Juhani Lamminmäki and Jean-Jacques Kantorow (the honorary conductor) have served as principal conductors. Nowadays, the orchestra does not have a principal conductor. Instead, they have an artistic board consisting of the general manager and two musicians elected by the orchestra. Tapiola Sinfonietta records and tours regularly and has currently more than 60 titles.
