Sauber C35
The Sauber C35 is a Formula One racing car designed by Sauber to compete in the 2016 Formula One season. The car was driven by Marcus Ericsson and Felipe Nasr, and used the Ferrari 061 power unit. The chassis was designed by Mark Smith, Eric Gandelin, Elliot Dason-Barber and Seamus Mullarkey with the car being powered with a customer Ferrari powertrain. Competitiveness During the first half of the season, the car proved to be less competitive compared to its predecessor due to less development over winter, caused by financial problems of the team. Marcus Ericsson
Marcus Thorbjörn Ericsson (; born 2 September 1990) is a Swedish professional racing driver. He competes in the NTT IndyCar Series, driving the No. 8 Honda for Chip Ganassi Racing and is the 2022 Indianapolis 500 winner. Ericsson previously competed in Formula One between 2014 and 2018. After a successful debut in car racing in 2007 which saw him take the British Formula BMW title with Fortec Motorsport, he moved up into the British team's British Formula Three Championship squad. After finishing as one of the top rookies in the category, Ericsson turned his attentions to the All-Japan Formula Three Championship where he won the championship in his debut year.
