Saturday AM (TV3)
''Weekend AM'' (stylised as ''Weekend:am'') is an Irish morning television show on Virgin Media One, that was first broadcast as ''"Saturday AM"'' on 29 August 2015 at 09:00, with ''"Sunday AM"'' beginning the following day. Development Following the success of ''Ireland AM'' and an absence of live breakfast television on the weekends, the TV3 Group (now Virgin Media Television) confirmed in June 2015, it would introduce a weekend slot to its schedule. It was confirmed ''Ireland AM'' presenter Anna Daly would move to the new weekend slot and present alongside Ivan Yates and Laura Woods. The show broadcasts between 09:00 to 12:00 each Saturday and Sunday. The programme features news, current affairs, weather updates and analysis of the weekend newspapers with in-studio guests. On 30 August 2018, to coincide with the rebranding of TV3 to "Virgin Media One", ''Ireland AM'' launched a new set, and the Saturday and Sunday editions of the programme were renamed as ''"Weekend AM"' ... Breakfast television (Europe, Canada, and Australia) or morning show (United States) is a type of news or infotainment television programme that broadcasts live in the morning (typically scheduled between 5:00 and 10:00a.m., or if it is a local programme, as early as 4:00a.m.). Often presented by a small team of hosts, these programmes are typically marketed towards the combined demography of people getting ready for work and school and stay-at-home adults and parents. Television in the Republic of Ireland is available through a variety of platforms. The digital terrestrial television service is known as Saorview and is the primary source of broadcast television since analogue transmissions ended on 24 October 2012. Digital satellite (from Sky Ireland, Saorsat and other European satellite service providers are available) and digital cable (from Virgin Media Ireland) are also widely used. The Irish satellite fill-in service (Saorsat) is via Ka-Sat using the Irish KA band spot and has been available since June 2011. While many people receive their television via Saorview, which is broadcast by 2RN, more than half subscribe to multichannel television networks.
