Sattahip Bay
Sattahip Bay ( th, อ่าวสัตหีบ, , ) is a bay in the east side of the Gulf of Siam or Gulf of Thailand. It is in Sattahip District, Chonburi Province, Thailand. History Prince Abhakara Kiartivongse (1880–1923), son of King Chulalongkorn, inspected Sattahip Bay in 1922 and saw that it was an ideal place to establish a naval base. Subsequently, he offered royal land in Sattahip in order to build the present-day naval facilities. Sattahip Bay is the part of the Sattahip Naval Base area, the largest base of the Royal Thai Navy. Occasionally Sattahip Bay is invaded by jellyfish. Geography Sattahip Bay lies at the south end of Chonburi Province. It is open towards the southwest and is bound by limestone rock formations forming peninsulas to the west over Laem Chalak and to the southeast at Khao Chong Khaep. HTMS Similan
HTMS ''Similan'' (871) ( th, เรือหลวงสิมิลัน) is a replenishment oiler (AOR) of the Royal Thai Navy. She was intended to support the aircraft carrier and its escorts. ''Similan'' was constructed in the People's Republic of China at the Hudong Shipyard through a 1993 contract with the China State Shipbuilding Corporation. The ship was commissioned in 1996. At the time, ''Similan'' was the largest ship in the Thai navy and the largest naval ship exported by China. The design is a flush-decked development of the Chinese Type 905 AOR resembling the French ''Durance''; the builder referred to the design as Type R22T. ''Similan'' was a sister ship or the precursor to the later Chinese Type 903. Design ''Similan'' has two refueling stations on each side. Solid cargo is transferred by helicopter. Bays Of Thailand
A bay is a recessed, coastal body of water that directly connects to a larger main body of water, such as an ocean, a lake, or another bay. A large bay is usually called a gulf, sea, sound, or bight. A cove is a small, circular bay with a narrow entrance. A fjord is an elongated bay formed by glacial action. A bay can be the estuary of a river, such as the Chesapeake Bay, an estuary of the Susquehanna River. Bays may also be nested within each other; for example, James Bay is an arm of Hudson Bay in northeastern Canada. This is a list of islands of Thailand. Thailand has hundreds of islands both in the Gulf of Thailand and in the Andaman Sea. Ko Yo
Ko Yo ( th, เกาะยอ, ) is an island, located in the Songkhla lake in the area of Mueang Songkhla District, Songkhla Province in southern Thailand. Geography Ko Yo is a small island in the middle of southern Songkhla lake, a part of Songkhla Province. Covering an area of 3,710 acres, most of the area is mountains and hills, 10-151 meters high, with the northernmost part of the island being "Khao Bo" or "Khao Khae". From Khao Bo is connected to the south called "Khao Kuti", the highest point of the area about 151 meters. Neighbouring places are (from north clockwise): Singhanakhon District, Mueang Songkhla District, Mueang Songkhla District, and Hat Yai District, all of them are in Songkhla Province.
