Satanik (film)
''Satanik'' is a 1968 film directed by Piero Vivarelli. It is based on the Italian comic series ''Satanik'' and was released to a moderate financial success in Italy. Plot Dr. Bannister (Magda Konopka), an ugly and disfigured woman, is summoned by a colleague of hers who has recently discovered a serum for rejuvenating living beings. The colleague shows Bannister the miraculous result of his experiments, injecting the serum into an animal close to death. In a few seconds, the animal is reinvigorated, showing vigor and health. The colleague, however, does not intend to use the serum on human beings, as some experiments remain to be conducted. In a moment of distraction Bannister kills the colleague, following which she drinks the serum he had developed. After a series of convulsions, the woman falls unconscious to the ground, but shortly thereafter awakens rejuvenated and beautiful. Piero Vivarelli
Piero Vivarelli (26 February 1927 – 7 September 2010) was an Italian film director, screenwriter and lyricist. Vivarelli was born in Siena. After his father's death in 1942 at the hands of Yugoslav Partisans, Vivarelli joined the Republic of Salò as a young volunteer of the Decima Flottiglia MAS and for a short time was a member of the Italian Social Movement.Giuliana Rotondi. The Faceless Monster
''Nightmare Castle'' ( it, Amanti d’Oltretomba) is a 1965 Italian horror film directed by Mario Caiano. The film stars Paul Muller, Helga Liné and Barbara Steele in a dual role. Mario Caiano shot the film in Rome and declared it his tribute to the Gothic genre and to actress Barbara Steele. Among reviews of the film, critics and historians note Steele's dual performance. Plot Stephen Arrowsmith ( Paul Muller), a scientist, has his home laboratory in the castle owned by his wife Muriel (Barbara Steele). Arrowsmith finds her having sex with a gardener, David. He attacks and disfigures David with a hot poker and burns Muriel's face with acid. Before electrocuting both of them, Arrowsmith is told that he is not Muriel's heir, but that the estate has been willed to her stepsister, Jenny (also Steele), who is mentally unstable.
