Sasolburg High School
Sasolburgh High School is a public high school, serving grades 8 to 12, in the town of Sasolburg, South Africa. Firearm Incident On 20 September 2013 a 15 year old student brought a firearm to school, which belonged to his grandfather, and began threatening other students. While attempting to intervene, a male teacher was wounded in the right leg after the gun fired by mistake. The student fled but was later found with the firearm in his possession. The teacher was taken to a nearby hospital in a stable condition and underwent surgery at Vanderbijlpark's Mediclinic Emfuleni. The pupil was arrested and psychologically evaluated before appearing in child justice court on 23 September. He was later released and placed in the care of his parents. Sasolburg
Sasolburg is a large industrial city within the Metsimaholo Local Municipality in the far north of the Free State province of South Africa. Sasolburg is further sub-divided into three areas: Sasolburg proper, Vaalpark (a more affluent cluster of suburbs located about 5 km north of the Sasolburg CBD) and Zamdela (a township). Most white residents of Sasolburg speak Afrikaans as a first language, while most black people speak Sesotho as a first language. eNCA, also known as eNews Channel Africa, is a 24-hour television news broadcaster owned by e.tv that focuses on South African, African stories and events. Johannes Kerkorrel
Johannes Kerkorrel (27 March 1960 – 12 November 2002), born Ralph John Rabie, was a South African singer-songwriter, journalist and playwright. Career Rabie, who was born in Johannesburg, worked as a journalist for the Afrikaans newspapers ''Die Burger'' and ''Rapport''. In 1986, Rabie started performing politically themed cabaret at arts festivals under his new stage name (''kerkorrel'' meaning church organ in Afrikaans). At that time, apartheid was at its nadir under State President P.W. Botha's National Party-led government. In 1987, Rabie was fired by ''Rapport'' for using quotes from Botha's speeches in his music; he then became a full-time musician and performer under the name ''Johannes Kerkorrel en die Gereformeerde Blues Band'' (Johannes Kerkorrel and the Reformed Blues Band), a deliberate reference to the Reformed Church. Mark Pilgrim (presenter)
Mark Pilgrim (born 20 September 1969) is a South African media personality who has hosted numerous radio and television shows, most notably as a DJ on 5FM, 94.7 Highveld Stereo, 94.5 Kfm, Hot919 and currently Hot102.7fm. On television, he hosted both seasons of Big Brother South Africa, the first season of ''Big Brother Africa'' and the MNET game show ''Power of 10''. Radio career Mark Pilgrim started his radio career on Voice of Wits campus radio in the 80s. He joined 5FM in 1995. In 2003 he left 5fm and joined 94.7 Highveld Stereo in Johannesburg. In October 2007, Pilgrim hosted a chart show broadcast on 2 radio stations simultaneously (KFM and 94.7).
