Sasha Roseneil
Sasha Roseneil (born 1966) is executive dean of the Faculty of Social & Historical Sciences at University College London where she is professor of Interdisciplinary Social Science. She is also a group analyst and a psychoanalytic psychotherapist. Roseneil became the vice chancellor of University of Sussex in August 2022, becoming Sussex's ninth vice-chancellor. Early life and education Roseneil obtained a 1st class BSc in Economics (special subject Sociology) from the London School of Economics, where she studied between 1985-1988 before undertaking a Ph.D. at the same institution. Roseneil's Ph.D. thesis is titled ''Feminist political action: the case of the Greenham Common Women's Peace Camp'' which she completed in 1994. Living Apart Together
Couples living apart together (LAT) have an intimate relationship but live at separate addresses. It includes couples who wish to live together but are not yet able to, as well as couples who prefer to (or must) live apart, for various reasons. In the early 2000s, LAT couples account for around 10% of adults in Britain (excluding those who live with family), and over a quarter of all those not married or cohabiting. Similar figures are recorded for other countries in northern Europe, including Belgium, France, Germany, the Netherlands, Norway and Sweden. Research suggests similar or even higher rates in southern Europe, although there LAT couples often remain in parental households. Shirin ( fa, شیرین; died 628) was a Christian wife of the Sasanian King of Kings (''shahanshah'') Khosrow II (). In the revolution after the death of Khosrow's father Hormizd IV, the General Bahram Chobin took power over the Persian empire. Shirin fled with Khosrow to Syria, where they lived under the protection of Byzantine emperor Maurice. In 591, Khosrow returned to Persia to take control of the empire and Shirin was made queen. She used her new influence to support the Christian minority in Iran, but the political situation demanded that she do so discreetly. Initially she belonged to the Church of the East, the so-called Nestorians, but later she joined the miaphysite church of Antioch, now known as the Syriac Orthodox Church. After conquering Jerusalem in 614, amidst the Byzantine–Sasanian War of 602–628, the Persians captured the True Cross of Jesus and brought it to their capital Ctesiphon, where Shirin took the cross in her palace.
