Sardar Malik
Sardar Malik (13 January 1930 – 27 January 2006) was an Indian Hindi film music director and score composer. Early life and career Sardar Malik was born on 13 January 1930 in Kapurthala, Punjab, British India. He first was a student at Uday Shankar's India Cultural Centre in Almora, Uttarkhand to learn dancing and singing. He became a trained choreographer in Kathakali, Manipuri and Bharatnatyam there. While at this institute, he also learned music from Ustad Allauddin Khan who also worked at the same centre. Later he came to Bollywood in the late 1940s and was the music director for over 600 songs. He is known for his work for films ''Thokar (1953 film)'', '' Aulad'' (1954), ''Bachpan'' (1963 film), ''Maharani Padmini'' (1964 film), and especially his big musical hit film '' Saranga'' (1961). Kapurthala is a city in Punjab state of India. It is the administrative headquarters of Kapurthala District. It was the capital of the Kapurthala State, a princely state in British India. Allauddin Khan
Allauddin Khan, also known as Baba Allauddin Khan ( – 6 September 1972) was an Indian sarod player and multi-instrumentalist, composer and one of the most notable music teachers of the 20th century in Indian classical music. For a generation many of his students, across different instruments like sitar and violin, dominated Hindustani classical and became some of the most famous exponents of the form ever, including Ravi Shankar and Ali Akbar Khan. Early life Khan was born in Shibpur village in Brahmanbaria (in present-day Bangladesh). His father, Sabdar Hossain Khan, was a musician. Khan took his first music lessons from his elder brother, Fakir Aftabuddin Khan. ''Mera Ghar Mere Bachche'' () is a 1960 Indian Hindi-language social family drama film produced and directed by Sohrab Modi. Made under the Minerva Movietone banner, it had music by Sardar Malik with lyrics by Hasrat Jaipuri. The film had Naaz starring in an adult lead role after previously acting as a child star.
