The following is the orders, decorations, and medals given by Governor / Yang di-Pertua Negeri of Sarawak. When applicable, post-nominal letters and non-hereditary titles are indicated. The presentation of the award was usually held at The Astana, the Governor's official residence. The Malay language has a complex system of Style (manner of address), styles, titles and honorifics which are used extensively in Brunei, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, and the southern Philippines. The Astana, Sarawak
The Astana (Malay: ''Astana Negeri Sarawak'') is a palace in Kuching, Sarawak, Malaysia, on the north bank of the Sarawak River, opposite the Kuching Waterfront. It is the official residence of the Yang di-Pertua Negeri Sarawak, the governor of Sarawak. The name is a variation of 'istana', meaning 'palace'. It was built in 1870 by the second White Rajah, Charles Brooke, as a wedding gift to his wife, Margaret Alice Lili de Windt. The palace is not normally open to the public, although the landscaped gardens are, which can be reached by a boat ride across the Sarawak River. It is part of the Kuching Heritage Trail. Darjah Utama Yang Amat Mulia Bintang Sarawak
The ''Darjah Utama Yang Amat Mulia Bintang Sarawak'' (Most Exalted Order of the Star of Sarawak) is the highest state order in the state of Sarawak. It is conferred to those who rendered excellent service towards the development of the state of Sarawak and Malaysia. The Order was established in 1964, a year after Sarawak's independence with the formation of Malaysia. The history of the order can be traced back to 1928, where a similar order named Order of the Star of Sarawak was established by the White Rajahs. However, the revived order has no connection with the previous order, except for the similarity of the name of the order. Darjah Yang Amat Mulia Bintang Kenyalang Sarawak
The Darjah Yang Amat Mulia Bintang Kenyalang Sarawak (Order of the Star of Hornbill Sarawak) is the second highest order group (in the group of orders) of the orders, decorations, and medals of Sarawak. The order was instituted in 1970, and was redesigned in 1988. Two more ranks were added to the order: the 'Officer' in 1988 and the 'Companion' in 2002. Darjah Jasa Bakti Sarawak
The ''Darjah Jasa Bakti Sarawak'' (Order of Meritorious Service to Sarawak) is the third-ranking order in the list of orders of the Sarawak State Orders, Decorations and Medals. The Order was instituted in 1997, and is limited to only 100 living recipients at one time. This order may be awarded to any civil servants or officers of statutory bodies that discharged their duties honourably and rendered excellent service to the State of Sarawak.''(Swk. Pingat Pentadbiran Awam (Sarawak)
The Pingat Pentadbiran Awam (Civil Administration Medal) ranks fourth in the Sarawak State Orders, Decorations and Medals list. The medal was instituted in 1973, to recognize exemplary service in Civil Service. The Most Excellent Order of the Star of Sarawak(lit: 'Darjah Yang Amat Gemilang Bintang Sarawak') was established by Charles Vyner Brooke, The Rajah of Sarawak, on 26 September 1928 as the highest order of chivalry within the Raj of Sarawak.Sarawak Government Almanac,Percetakan Nasional Malaysia Berhad (Cawangan Sarawak) The motto of the order was "Haraplah Sa-lagi Bernafas", which was also the Sarawak state motto, a translation of the Latin phrase Dum Spiro Spero, which literally means "As long as I breathe, I hope". The Pingat Perkhidmatan Setia (Loyal Service Medal or Loyalty Service Medal) is a medal awarded by the Sarawak State Government as a token of gratitude towards a Civil Service Personnel who has served for 20 continuous or 25 accumulated years of service. The medal is usually presented by the Chief Minister of Sarawak, with Sarawak State Secretary present as well. Should the Chief Minister be unable to attend the presentation ceremony, the Deputy Chief Minister will present the medal instead.
